@mikel1024 Actually, ‘He’ is me! The ring was put in, it did get a pressure
check, all is well, nothing went ‘Poing!!!’ Doing these movies is an ‘as
is’ thing for me, all is gone over afterwards, it IS easy to forget a vital
step when filming with a camera.

@pearsonba350 Only a couple months to go……and many of us are counting
every single day. But ugh, the wait is like 50-weight oil dripping at 30
below! But yes, many projects on the go. There is a station wagon with a
glass roof sitting in my garage with a totally taken apart rear suspension
awaiting…..

spikedpunk says:

Sounds like a nice ride. Front wheel drive Caddy! With tons of power and
torque to pull you around corners and surprise many around you. I will
answer you at length later on in a PM (is your account set up to accept
PM’s, check it out) as to what is involved. I will do a movie some time in
the spring about this too.

ghtowagon says:

I gotta do that on my NEW R-4..ughhh! I need the same tools to do it

spikedpunk says:

No problem, will do, looks like it will be the morning, I will give you a
few primers and to what is involved for the venture, such as having the POA
valve adjusted to work with the new refrigerants, new filter drier,
lubricants, etc.

Aaaahh, wintertime repairs, prepping for the ensueing car show season! I
love it! Only a couple months to go……

Mike Dreary says:

Well, I think he forgot the snap-ring that holds the whole thing in place.
He’s in for a nasty surprise!

easytopleez33 says:

Yeah, go ahead says I can recieve personall messages. Thanks a bunch!!

spikedpunk says:

@ghtowagon The ‘UGHHH’ for me here is that with ‘Google’ taking over this
Youtube thing, I never get message notification, by chance I signed on
today. Many comments! The R-4s are notorious for leaks, especially with the
large case ‘O’-rings. The case size, and the fact there is really not much
oil held in them, the front seals then get involved because they score from
infrequent oiling. I am not sure if the tools can be rented out, they are
needed for some of the steps indeed!

@spikedpunk I haven’t even begun tt tear into my Cutlass yet, waiting for a
little warmer weather. And dry would be nice, too. I get mostly rain where
I live.

I’ve got a 67 cadillac el dorado with same compressor. Same problem as this
one. I suppose now would be an ideal time to retro it to 134 but, I don’t
know all that is involved, outside of replacing the compressor. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
