My harmonic pulley actually popped off my 92 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera as I
was headed to work :(. The engine started making a loud knocking noise, the
car was shaking n it just stopped moving so I had to coast off the road.
After a diagnosis by a mechanic I went n got the part 4rm AAP about $100 .
It was replaced n the car now rides like new. Ty again 4 the video keep em
coming. I will post one soon on my OCC detailing everything that I’ve done
to it. I’m sbscrbd to u now chk me out. Peace.

When I had my 93 Century with the 3.3 the harmonic balancer went bad. Yes
it is a very common problem. I had it fixed though, I didn’t try to do it
myself.

Craig, it sounds to me like you’ve learned how to do this from your own
personal experience!! I have heard that those damn things take a dump on
you usually when you least expect them to. Thanks for the info!!

An easy way to see if it failed is to grab the belt/pulley and see if you
can move the belt back and forth. If its good, you shouldn’t be able to
move the belt without turning over the engine, which is almost impossible
by hand. Had to deal with this on that Bonneville. We got a cheap
replacement and so far so good. Cheap ass puller from Harbor Freight and a
socket worked good. Used the starter to break the bolt loose.
