change FUEL pressure REGULATOR replacement how to DIY – GM 3100 and 3400 v6 engine cars

Here’s another (for entertainment purposes only!) step by step how to DIY video guide . . . I should say how to DIM (do it myself) on how I, Izzy, “World Renowned” (self proclaimed) by unanimous decision, “Undisputed #1 DIY Guru” (judges are still out on that one) removed and replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator and fixed engine performance, economy, and fuel trim issues, on this 2002 Chevy Venture mini van with a 3.4 Liter (litre) 3400 v6 engine and also on GM 3.1 Liter 3100 v6 engines, and like on most cars, trucks, vans, and SUV’s. And PLEASE . . . “Do as I say and not as I do” . . . . don’t hassle with it!, and take it to a professional!

Remember folks, I am what you would call a “trained professional”, so, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! . . . Doing so may place you at GREAT PERIL, & know that if you do . . . . you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK! . . . . (please read the DISCLAIMER and TERMS & CONDITIONS included at the beginning of the video).

Have done the job once ,about to have to do it again will be the 3rd regulator this car has had ,1 by the dealer and 2 by me i loosened of the the throttle body to get the clearance to slide the regulator out side ways, very tight fit was scared to death the fuel line fitting would break ,also 24 mm is not a common size bought 2 open end wrenchs at home depot problem was they were very big , ended up using 1 and a small adjustable wrench .

Very detailed and thorough video – thanks!
I'm ready to do this to my 2004 Montana now

Robert Rine says:

i tried this on a 2004 grand am gt and i got to where i couldnt get the regulator to come up high enough to get 24mm wrenches on it so i gave up and put it back together, is there a way of getting the regulator to come up higher

Justin Imel says:

Thanks for this tip and tool. I needed to replace my regulator and wasn't looking forward to having to pull the upper intake plenum and fuel rail. At first I couldn't get the regulator to come up as high as you do in this video. My fuel lines are clipped together with a metal clip that's bolted to the engine so I was thinking there's no way it will come up, but with some wiggling it finally did. Then I could just barely get my wrenches on there to do the work. Perfect!

Luis R says:

Izzy thanks for the video, it really helps when you can watch the job being done before you get into the repair, I thought I would have to take the valve body off for clearance, the video saved me a lot of work, my car would stall on deceleration, and the diaphram was leaking fuel like yours, it run like a champ now, wish you the best Luis.

Aaron Brotherton says:

I really need to know the kind of ratchet and but you used to take the regulator off please.

David Lorell says:
