i gotta 02 imp impala i been doing what u said i finally got noise outta
speakers but no music do i use the blue & white wire to the white wire from
the harness that plugs into the amp or the coming from the front of car

Tavis Mckenzie says:

I had the same problem. save yourself a lot of money and hasstle! check to
see if the amp has power. door chimes and key chimes also work off this
amp. if you have no sound then check power feed to amp. check fuse first.
if fuse is good then there is a corrosion break under the carpet behind the
passenger seat. a lot of work getting to it. I just ran 2 new wires to the
trunk and now works fine.

DNALI says:

There is a way to reset the tripped switch using the factory head unit. I’d
check the manual but I’d it’s not in there the dealer should be able to do
it in a few minutes.

ShocArts says:

how do you do it with the stock radio??

Shane Cameron says:

if that doesn’t work, its the damn orange wires that are under the molding
strip of the passenger rear door. They get wet and break. Right where it
goes from two orange wires to one. It just fixed mine!. its under the
carpet under the molding. Google this for more details, that’s how i fixed
mine. Happens all the tine with these.

duncannez says:

@dnali is the method your pointing out really that easy? I mean I don’t
have a lot of tools and I figure snipping a wire and connecting to another
can’t be too difficult. Please post back I’m going to try it tomorrow! !!

jesse0730 says:

Dont waste your time just rewire the system less stress and bulsht!

Ken M says:

I have searched everywhere, and cannot find anything on how to reset this
with the factory deck.

Alan Wolff says:

Thanks alot ive been pissing around with mine forever with this, i
appreciate the help so much man. Thanks again

I tried this with the factory equipement and it did NOT work. It appears
amp is getting power, but no sound out of any speakers even when the
radio/cd player is on. I also had water pooling in the pax side floor after
a rain shower, so I checked the wires under the carpet. They were moist,
but I could not find any corrosion. I tried a different radio from
junkyard, and got the same result as my original deck. I’m guessing the amp
is bad, but who knows with all the impala electrical problems.

Morice page says:

Just want to say thanks. Took me a min to understand what you meant but now
I have sound. To those who are having this problem and are not using a
bypass just connect your remote wire from your personal amp and hook it up
to the little white cord in the dash. Then connect both of them to another
wire that will turn on your amp in the back. This video shows you the same
way but he hook it up in the trunk.

duncannez says:

@dnali thanks a whole lot bro! I just bought a 02 Chevrolet impala and the
radio is working fine but like yours I have no sound whatsoever !but
there’s a hissing noise coming from the front passenger speaker? ?idk. But
I am going to try this method out when I wake up! Hopefully this will work
for my impala!

tmatess says:

Dude lighten up on the oxyeez boy!!

Farfull Kenobly says:

Smile bro, you got tunes now. Thanks for the info.

YungNotch says:

Good shit bro. I did this to my 2000 Monte Carlo and worked fine. Where did
yu run yur wire from?

CAPRICES4LYFE says:

just search google or ebay for impala amp bypass their like 12-17 bucks
depending where you go

Drumsandvocals says:

Thanks for your time. I have the same issue, with the exception that I had
a leak that came through the blower motor. The water then wicked through
the carpet to the power wire under the kick plate for the passenger side
door, and got into a solder joint. Now I just have to get in there and fix
it.

Scott Vandenbosch says:

If you are using an aftermarket deck and have an amp in the trunk you are
losing lots of power. By the bypass adapter or make one with jumpers. This
will allow the headunit to power the speakers and not the cheap 80w max
trunk amp.
