I just bought my first D-max today, and its pretty cold here in Colorado
right now. It was running great all day until i was trying to leave work.
Had a friend take me home, Just saw the video and went back and tried it.
worked great! I thought it was the lift pump! You saved me a LOT of time
and money. Thank you!

Steve George says:

this was a great help, my 01 duramax has issues with the cold and this is
one of them…thanks much..

I have an 2009 Duramax 3500 HD and it just shuts off every other tank I
have spend to much money on it and still no one has figured out why it does
it.
I don’t want to keep on priming the filter evertime does anybody knows what
it could be?

fangqua says:

Thanks Bud, just helped me figure it out. Now I can spend time on
replacing the u-joints in the front drive-line. Thanks again.

You should change your youtube name to duramaxhelp

Thak you for the tip. My 05 GM was runing fine and all of the sudden it
would start runing like crap until shutting off. I had to prime the pump
and kept wondering why the system was getting air. When i saw tjis video i
touch the sensor and sure enough it started making bubbles. After replacing
the entire assembly it runs great

TJ Quinley says:

So I got a 2011 dmaxx same problem came home shut tbe truck off no problem
went to start it up just cranks changed the fuel filter thinking ice. Do
you think it could be the same thing ?

theOtinmia82 says:

That is correct, to be exact i just saved $150. The entire assembly at the
dealer is $157+ tax. And i just found a website that sales the entire
O-rings kit to overhaul the fuel assembly for just $20. Again thank you

richard smith says:

Yeah HELL NO i went to my gm dealer and your price you said is wrong the
price is $668. so you might check before you say $160. NO you are wrong

Joseph Harms says:

Hopefully u can help.. Have a friends truck 03 6.6 duramax that looses fuel
prime after sitting for awhile then won’t start. No visible fuel leaks
present. Fuel filter orings are ok and don’t see any fuel coming out of
priming pump when pumping it up.

Jacob Clayton says:

I have a 6.5 turbo diesel cranks but no start. If I use ether and jump it
it will start. And runs fine. Any answers??

Rick P says:

My 04 duramax has been running and starting great. Today the no
battery charge light came on. I disconnected and cleaned battery
connections first then started it up to see same indications. Installed new
alternator but in doing so grounded out the battery lead against the
alternator housing for just a second. Went to restart only to crank. I
primed it twice and have good pressure at the bleeder. Checked every fuse
all good. What next?

Angel Villa says:

Would this leak on the filter like in the video cause the primer always to
be loose, and show a bad fuel pressure sensor reading??? Mine leaks just
like the one in the video, at first id prime it and it would stiffin now it
doesnt even prime. Thank you for that video. Answers alot of questions glad
its not cp3 fingers crossed.

Thanks for the info. I’ll be checking it out tomorrow . Can’t seem to find
an engine diagram anywhere . However, I did see a small leak on the low
pressure side. The same that was shown in your video. Just want to cover
all bases.

hddm3 says:

I think merchant automotive sells rebuild kits for these and dmaxstore to
for 100 or less if I remember. thanks for the tip

windsurfsam says:

That is actually the fuel filter housing, not low pressure pump. You can
buy a fuel filter housing rebuild kit to replace the orings for a lot less
money. God bless.

Lookinforanswers says:

I think you just saved me a lot of money! If that’s the low pressure fuel
pump, where is the high pressure fuel pump located? I was told that it was
mounted to the frame? Searching on 2006 gmc sierra duramax. 2500, 6.6..
Hope you can help me out. Thanks
