5.3l Collapsed lifter GM AFM DOD Easy fix. DIY collapsed lifter fix!!!

GM Chevy Cadillac AFM collapsed lifter on DOD (Displacement On Demand) how to fix the collapsed lifter causing that misfire and hack the displacement on demand without pulling the heads. Also much better chances of success if you pull the rocker arm before hitting the side of the lifter.

If you have one of these AFM (Active Fuel Management) with DOD (Displacement On Demand) vehicles and turn off this system you will most likely see a increase in fuel economy. I have done 5 of these thus far and 4 reported gains of 2mpg 2 of those actual did the calculation at the pump, the other 2 just based it off the computer calculation on the dash.

Vehicle include but not limited to 2007 to present gm trucks, suv’s, v8 cars. Some examples are Cadillac escalade, Chevrolet Tahoe and suburban, GMC Yukon, chevy or GMC 1500 trucks, and cars such as the impala SS.

If you seen the first video no need to watch this one…

Can you tell us more about the shape of the end of the pushrod tool? What are you hitting with it, The side of the lifter or the lifter spring? Does oil only travel thru the valley pan when V4 is activated? About to tackle this problem and looking for all the information I can get.

Thank You Charles!!!!! Your method worked perfectly I didn't have to use a hammer I just stroked it in there several times tapping it on the lifter and It just popped up no problem. Thanks again your video was a god send.
