Do the silverados all have temp sensors built in from factory or do you have to add a sensor also to add a trans temp sensor to a 2005 silverado that didnt come from factory with a trans temp sensor

I replaced only my speedometer motor. Everything seems to be working fine except I notice some of my different warning lights particularly the battery light stays on all the time now. It’s really faint but on. Any ideas on how to fix this?
