When I drive like a maniac the lowest mpg my car ever went is 18 and I thought that was pretty low

Nope. I'm getting 12 pulling an enclosed trailer 6×12. ..almost 0 elec assist towing. Can get 30 mpg unloaded if I'm really really trying. But 20-25 Normal driving.
Yeah, i really like hybrids. Full electric doesn't makes sense.
Fords are consistently made overcomplicated.
They're better than GM and Dodge-Chrysler, but they are created by engineers who think you need a milllion parts to do one job.
Makes fixing them at a mechanic a nightmare and raises labor costs
Meh. I think all the domestic manufacturers quality has taken a nose dive. I think the Ford 10 speed auto behind a tiny little v6 is one of the worst combos out there. There’s no replacement for displacement. I’ll stick to my old iron.

Autozone alternator went out in 10K miles, original Ford went 200K.

My sisters husband bought a used 1990 F150 4.9 in 2019. It had 75,000. Last month it went over 300,000 miles. 3 speed auto. They use it to tow 7000 to 8200 lb loads usually from Florida to Texas and Az. They put a rebuilt tranny and cooler around 200,000. Changed the oil every 5000 10W40 Mobil one synthetic. Now the last two oil changes they bought 10W40 non synthetic oil what's on sale, cheapest oil filter and now go 7500 miles mainly highway miles. I say it's a mistake to extend the oil changes and oil type considering all the towing they do. It used maybe a pint of oil at 5000, now about a quart at 7500. Good idea yea or nay? They plan to replace the engine at 500,000.

My 2011 Ford F-150 3.7 L V-6 gets 25 mpg on the highway when driving 55 mph or around 21 mpg when driving 65 to 70 mph. Got the FlexFuel feature, but I have never used it.
