AugustusLarch says:

Okay, I’m sorry for feeling sorry for you. I just really dig people.
Especially when they have a quirk. Quirks are interesting.

Graeme Leigh says:

@alaskaman73 If he is a mechanic why is he using a claw hammer? Aren’t they
used by carpenters?

Mike Drake II says:

@DanDeVideoMan The rear takes a lot more abuse than the front…. i would
replace both and it may not be necessary but gives you a little peace of
mind.

hwhhww says:

probably. and they would spam this comment just so others dont see it. I
dont watch expert village anymore just because of that..

colt budd says:

Mike Drake II says:

TheLackofattack says:

briansmobile1 says:

How long was that drive shaft on the ocean floor?

cherrypie646 says:

Michael St John says:

Typical backyard mechanic I’d say, we even got ’em in this country! Call’s
’em “Love taps” then strikes a precision bearing with a naked steel hammer!
The arrogance speaks for itself really

lmanzanares says:

Thank you for posting this video, it is very helpful.

tommy thompson says:

Whacking it like that with a claw hammer is going to deform the housing.
Not to mention getting the cap started crooked. And you are lucky a roller
didnt fall out into the bottom of the cap. Some lube would have helped, not
to mention grease…..

Thomas Helton says:

i remember a road trip i had one fail i used the hammer method ROFL i
busted one cap had to make do with an old cap it ended up being the flat
tie straps on 1990 chevy truck would let the caps fling out..(but that
trouble was a crappy u-joint broke at zerk fitting…i`d suggest ones
without grease fittings)

hwhhww says:

i hate how expertvillage seperates all their clips to be short. wtf is the
point of that?

sofaking134 says:

“Love taps” giggity giggity gooo!

GuitarFreak881 says:

Does it really matter that it lines up exactly the way it was? My project
75′ camaro’s driveshaft was taken off some time ago to clean underneath the
chassis and I didn’t mark one side of it. It looks exactly the same on both
sides is why I’m asking.

Clayton Sanchez says:

Great video

MrBeezewax says:

yer seriously ive been making shafts for 7 years now and 1 hes lucky he
didnt drop a bearing in the cups using a hammer like that 2 he didnt re
grrease the bearing cups and 3 its gonna be out of balance propper cow boy
video id be sacked on the spot if i was caught refurbing a 1410 like that

demolisher16 says:

Thanks bro

Kevin Fazzina says:

Thank you, I was stumped but with your video, I had no problem, thank you
once again

Alex Edit says:

If you have a Ford Explorer (any year) I recommend changing the engine,
transmission and body, preferably with Honda or Toyota so it doesn’t
depreciate as much 🙂

Alex Edit says:

4:18 give it a squeeze and slip it in the hole lol

DanDeVideoMan says:

So why are all the videos on replacing the rear U joint. Don’t you ever
have to replace the front one? Shouldn’t you replace it just cause you
already have the drive shaft out? I’m about to tackle this job on my ’64
Cutlass and wondering if there is any reason NOT to change the front one.
By the way, nice video.

Rider Chamblizi says:

hes a cool hippy mechanic prime example: “LOVE TAPS”
