cylinders 3 and 4 are companion cylinders…same coil fires both at same time..while one is on compression stroke the other is on exhaust stroke…if you want to check control take a test light to battery positive and backprobe the coil connector wire that is red/light blue and make sure it flashes with engine cranking or running
sure..with that and the heat in that area,no wonder there is a high failure rate
i found on some of these windstars that water intrudes under the cowl panel and streams right on top of the coil causing it to short or misfire
