Great Explanation.
It works but you could put it in the vice with a socket on the back side
that is little bigger to press it into and the vice makes easy work of it.
thanks
is there a special place to put the zerk fitting? I believe that For
maximum u-joint strength, you want the Zerk fitting to be under compression
when the driveshaft is turning to drive the vehicle forward.
Thank you, Christopher Walken.
is no bueno lol…
thankes for tis video very good
🙂 Much easy if you just use a car jack and use the car frame too. two
seconds and no damage to the U-Joint
Thank GOD for this video, and youtube
So thats what the useless spark plug socket is for
My first attempt at replacing my U-joints on a full size Bronco, after the
frustration of watching many idiots videos, I would say this one was the
best. Thank you from this little redneck gal. <3
I will be doing this replacement on my 1970 C20 Pickup. Im curious if Im
going to find those nylon pins. Thank you
Nice job on the video very helpful
Good video I got a stupid part time job were I can’t afford my mechanic
right now so I think I’m going to try this with my buddy love YouTube
Can a bad u joint make the rear differential bearing seal go bad?I have a
2005 dodge Dakota 4×4 4.7 with only 38k on it.and the rear seal is bad.
I’m so glad you made this video! We have the same problem and just happen
to have a weight set in the shop! Thanks so much! 🙂
I AM THOR GOD OF THUNDER!!!
it would have came out about five swings sooner if your bench wasn’t
bouncing so much
Its kind of working. I will thank you for the idea. But I can’t get it
worth a shit. I’m doing it on my f150, and can’t get the joints out. I’m
guessing the the stock joints. On a 95, Probably why its suck a pain to
do…
Thank you. Extremely helpful.
good shit thanks
Give your dog some water man!
Did you see my second video? I put a link in the description above. There
might be nylon pins holding it together if it was stock. I’m no mechanic,
but I can’t imagine your u-joints being that different than mine. Good
luck, man.
Great stuff! Easy explanation of everything…..well done!
Good job. When in college I worked at my uncle’s machine shop and he would
do a joint in 3 minutes – remove and install nearly the same way as you!
(vice to reinstall though) One thing you should do though is using a brass
drift, hit the spider in each of the 4 directions to ensure you have not
overpressed the cups and the machined clearance of the spider is maintained
– the clips provide the stops for this.
Kias r fwd they dont hAve u joints…
Most chain auto parts stores will rent you a press for FREE. So no need to
buy or ruin your vice grips or socket set.
man that was awesome – thanks for sharing it. It’s also good to see other
people make do with the tools they have – doesn’t make me feel so povo 🙂
Thank for the help you save me $450 dame mechanic trying to poke my eyes
Very helpful!!! You just saved me a mechanics fee And I learned something.
