INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ODOMETER REPAIR ON A 2000 FORD F150

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ODOMETER REPAIR ON A 2000 FORD F150

A common problem on Ford F series and Expeditions of this year through 2004. This problem and repair has been well documented else where, so I take no credit…

omg totally awesome, you just saved me $680.00 my local shop wanted to charge me because he couldn’t read my mileage to do my inspection. I told him “no way I’m paying that…” he tried to convinced me but when I said I was going on-line to see what I could learn he totally shut-up and stopped talking. Now know why – ten cents worth of solder and some time to remove the cluster – Are there no honest repair man left who tell the truth?

Thank you so much!! I’ve been fighting this issue with my truck for a long time! I was told it needed a new odometer and it would be $250 plus a programming fee (Where they program it to match your mileage). You just saved me close to $300! Thanks man! God Bless!

My odometer doesn’t work most of the time and every now and then when I drive for a long distance it will start working…does this sound like a soldering issue also?

karbsy9 says:

hi first of all thanks for posting the video, i soldered the connection and it worked perfectly except when i took it apart the black push button fell out onto the ground and now when i put it back together it is sitting in loosely and not springing back when i press the button to see the trip meter digital display, i was wondering if i might of lost something that goes in between the black push stick and the circuit board, thanks for your time
