Andy Stagger says:

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer… it had 150,000 when I bought it .. 5 years ago! It looks brand new… and rides like a new car … it’s got 200,230 miles on it now and runs like new! It’s all about maintenance! Whoever had it took great care of it! ❤️✌️oh and it’s 4×4

Toxic ZeRo says:

Most V6 engines are junk except for the Buick 3800 of course v8s are better

Toxic ZeRo says:

Ford makes the biggest pieces of s*** on the planet

°butterfly°xoxo says:

4.0 sohc is known for timing chain issues around 170,000 to 220,00 miles. Chains, guide's, tensioners, pretty much done. And a pain to service. One runs down the backside of motor. I like the 5.4 ford's but they have same issues with the timing, around the same mileage. Easier to service though. Plus you gotta change the phasers

Shannon campo says:

A Chevy or Dodge would be lucky to make to 100000 miles.

Mr. D, says:

What happens to the batteries when they wear out?

Kid Car Critic says:

These explorers are the BEST. Very reliable trucks. Parts are cheap and accessible. They run and drives great!

Chris M says:

I know a few people that had this body style Explorer and Mountaineer. Every one of them needed a transmission. One needed a timing chain tensioner for a chain that's actually on the back of the engine. Stupid design.

Michael Kanes says:

Straight forward no nonsense and no foul language thank you Scotty!

Mario Valencia says:

Tell everyone how you got to pull the engine out to change the back timing chain

Jenna Tyler says:

You can't even find a scrap metal vehicle for $500.00 these days

Paul says:

Scotty, do you feel the same about older Ford Escape SUVs as you do the Explorers? I'm going to be purchasing a used suv soon and am doing research. So far, Toyotas, Hondas, Subarus and Mazdas are getting my attention mostly.

Matt Norman says:

the biggest money pit suvs are chevy and gmc and buick

R H says:

$160k 4×4 vehicle at 16mpg? NO! Average 1000 miles driven a month low end gas bill is : 63 gallons of fuel use and at that = $250 – $300 minimum cost. Average cost of a 30mpg vehicle is $133 and that alone saves over $120 – $170 a month. No gas hogs.
