out goin 60. NOT fun

natescamp says:

Glad I could be of help!

Jesus Garcia says:

how can i know if the u -joint needs to be replaced?. . does it squeaks
when u step on it less than 30mph and when u decreased the velocity less
than 30mph as well?

capncrunchalot says:

“since it leaks”

Trog Lodyte says:

Good video BUT my favorite part was welding close to that can of butane!!!
PRICELESS

natescamp says:

The closest thing I think of is that they might be something like nylon
locks? Does the new u joints come with some new rubber pins? If so you
might be able to melt the old nylon locks out. Don’t know if that’s what
you have but that’s the best I can come up with.

Affan Kidwai says:

away. any clues.

thomas d says:

u gotta get that gas tank fixed, its been leaking gas since ya got the truck

GuitarChocolate1 says:

@natescamp When replacing the back universal joints where the yoke is. Do
you have to take the yoke off in order to replace the universal joints.
Answer soon please. Thank you.

natescamp says:

You shouldn’t have to remove the yoke after you take the clips out you
should be able to take a socket and beat the u-joint over to one side of
the yoke remove the caps, using something to press them out is preferable
but theres nothing wrong with beating them out. After you got them out of
the yoke you should be able to pull the slip yoke out if you want to work
in nicer conditions, just make sure you put it back in in the exact same
orientation or you might get driveline vibrations.

Redd McMillon says:

Dude! you just helped me tremendously 🙂

xELITExGUNN3ERx says:

ive done the ones that have c clamps but on my 05 checy avalance there not
c clams there little ruber pins and ive never seen them before how do u
remove them anyone know

natescamp says:

Could be either wheel bearing or differential. If it changes when turning
hard wheel bearing, if noise changes when you let off throttle or get back
on to it could be diff. A place to start anyways.

natescamp says:

@bosshogg013641 Ouch, I bet that hurt.

PbNTheory says:

You’re doing it the hard and timely way

xELITExGUNN3ERx says:

ya i havent got the new one yet but i looked at it and i scen they had
little white things on each side they liik yo be rubber and they stick out
about 2mm so u could probl pull them out with pliers but i have never scen
ones that didnt have c clamps so i was woundering if anyone has scene any
like that and if there is a special way to remove them or not

natescamp says:

Never thought of that. Thanks for the advice.

natescamp says:

@lowriderfan15 Yeah they could squeak, but their not too bad yet if their
squeaking. You’ll know there really bad when they start clunking.

hmshyperion says:

Hammering out U-joint caps is not the right way. You can bend or distort
the driveshaft yoke. This guy has a nice big shop vice. Why not use it,
with a couple of sockets to press them out? This easier, safer and will not
damage anything.

phoenixcrafters says:

thanks helped me a bunch

arkansascountryboy88 says:

All 99 models an up chevy trucks have rubber clips from the factory just
take a torch and melt them out and the new u joints will have the clips
goes right back in like it should

natescamp says:

Lol I had to watch the video twice just to find it!

justin says:

Im lovin the miley cyrus haha

Raul Rivera says:

the same as i? My truck accelarates fine and when taking of their is a
funny squeekee sound from the back and when taking my foot off the gas it
shivers or shakes bad would that be the U joints or could it be somthing
else? It was running awsome until like 3 weeks ago when it started to
shiver!!

natescamp says:

Yeah… Someday I’ll end up blowing up….
