This is a common fault on this vehicle. I've had my 2002 for 16 years now and I'm on at LEAST my 6th housing, they just crack constantly. If you can convert to the aluminum one from the ford contour, do so.
How do you know which way the thermostat is supposed to be placed in the housing
So, why wouldn’t you just remove the front of the housing and replace only the internal thermostat instead of the complete housing?
You are using the incorrect coolant !!!!!! It’s suppose to be Fords Motorcraft gold coolant ( G-05 ) !!!!!! This is incorrect and will cause problems …. Ford switched from the silicate based Green coolant to the Phosphate free HOAT coolant in 2000 and you will see on the degas chamber the sticker that says use only G-05 gold !!!!!
No need to remove the bottom hose all fords have a drain plug on the radiator
So a torque wrench is necessary to do this repair?
THAT NEW PART LOOKS LIKE ITS GOT SOME KIND OF CAP MISSING
Buen trabajo! Solo tengo una duda a donde puedo conseguir toda la pieza acá consigues solo algunas cosas
I got a new part but there is holes in it. The old one has plugs . I don't know what it's called . I can see the thermostat
Sir good day for you and thank you for this video,i notice that the housing you just installed under the lower hose fitting have and very small fitting but i didn't see you removing nothing from there when you removed the old one and neither when you installed the new one, there are any small hose like 1/4 that need to be attached there?
Where is the temp sensor
You say prerogative a lot. But, you know, that's your prerogative, man.
I have 2003 ford focus svt the problem on mine is leaking at thermostat housing but when order thermostat housing assembly doesn't come with coolant temperature senson and no plug underneat the housing. My question where do i put the coolant temperature sensor if the new housing doesn't have the hole for the sensor. I hope someone can help me thanks.
