Great video … today, I have to drop the fuel tank in my 2002 F150 (225K miles) to install a new fuel pump — I likewise have 3/4 of a tank of fuel which I was unable to siphon even with the fill tube removed —

So god your video , and very explicit.

good video. explained all the bolts to look for

Michael Briggs says:

K Reese, you did a fantastic job with the video. I have a 2001 Super Crew, and have already had to replace the fuel pump 2.5 years ago and am having to do it again tomorrow. Probably should be using OEM parts, but not sure how much longer I am keeping it (292K miles on her already). I found that removing the bed is necessary and since the tank is under the extended part of the truck (rear seats), I have to drop the tank too. But, I only dropped the tank enough to roll it to the back of the truck (supported by two floor jacks), disconnect the lines and plug, replace the pump, and reinstall the tank. Takes two people, but it's fairly quick.

Michael Swenor says:

thanks for the video it's very helpful

Ridge Runner says:

Excellent video. Followed your directions and had no problem replacing the fuel pump on a 2000 F150. Thanks for posting!

Calixto says:

Great job. I hit LIKE and also subscribed to help you out.

Bobby Cooper says:

Thank You for doing this F150 fuel pump video. Very helpful.

Bradley Williams says:

do you know what the name of the wrench is that you have to use to get the gas lines off?

Robert Smith says:

Another easy way to do this is to remove the bed of the truck. I think only 6 bolts hold it on. Unbolt the fuel filler (3 bolts), unplug all electrical connectors, three or four in total. Remove bed and then the fuel pump is fully exposed when you look on top of the gas tank. This saves you from having to drop the tank and pulling fuel lines, except for the obvious ones located at the fuel pump. But, either way you do it works just fine.

Scotty82ND says:

I'm fixin to do this on my truck, same as yours 01 F150. Great video, it was nice to see someone do it before I did.

Nick Latora says:

?  What do you think it is when I am driving about 30-40, I step on the gas and it putters like the engine is not getting enough gas?   I thought it might be a fuel pump going bad.

kchilz32 says:

have you done the spark plug wells on this?

kchilz32 says:

Great video bro. you can also use strong ratchet straps to bring down the tank and raise it back up.

ron b says:

Great video. You explained everything very well. Sure makes my job easier. Thanks, K Reese.
