Nala’s World says:

Hi there. Do I need an alignment after changing shock absorbers?

Just a cat walking on a keyboard says:

My new shocks say I need to support the lower control arm while doing this, is that true to save the cv joint from bending too far?

BelieverMeSF says:

Does anyone know the bolt torque specs??

enterprise59 says:

All pretty EASY with a brand new lower control arm with PRE loosened shock nuts. For average people this is a hell of a lot HARDER, especially if your truck has over 200k miles running on original shocks.

Nick Feness says:

You're the type of mechanic I'd want to work on my truck. So many people just use raw metal to rip the hubcaps off and scratch the hell out off the mags. I appreciate your technique with the taped tool.

ONE WAY LAWN SERVICE says:

Mines are surrounding by a big sprint and they are making noise from the button part of the shocks when they get rain water do you think replacement will be necessary?

Juan Gomez says:

Hi, Can replace the shocks without removing the tire or will it be more difficult and more work? Thanks

Alec Conigliaro says:

Thanks this gave me the confidence to do it myself seems easy enough appreciate the step by step guide

J says:

AWSOME VIDEO, STEP BY STEP, YOU got right to the POINT, GREATTTTTTTT

J says:

Just bought, a ford with the same shock, GREAT VIDEO,

Sam Long says:

Thanks for the video guys. I replaced front and rear shocks on my 2008 3.0L Ford Ranger today. Great tip to double up on wrenches to remove the top nut! Mine both snapped off about 3/4 of the way up due to rust swelling. Bottom nuts on the driver side snapped off immediately, but had to ratchet off the passenger side fully. A few taps with a 4lb hammer to the bottom of the shock freed everything well after bolt removal. I cleaned the mount points with brakleen after dismount. The driver shock exploded on me after dismount, but could have been due to twisting during removal. Just a reminder to never point the shock ends towards your face during analysis post-dismount! I also had to Jack up the lower control arm to get the angle right to mount the low-end of the shock. I'm in Canada where rust is a reality of life, so the lower nut on the top part of the shock was 17-18mm, depending on rust swelling (and needed to be hammered on!).

S1ck Puppies says:

Can I removing and replace my shocks without putting the truck on a lift or jacks??

Nibboi Andrew says:

Mine truck has springs on them, is the procedure the same or a little different?

Michael Carletti says:

Do you deliver parts to Canada?

Abram Ruelas says:

Love these videos great detail

Matthew Mischnick says:

Great vid and thanks!

I've owned a 2003 Ranger since new and do all repairs. My one piece of advice.

A week before you plan on doing this R&R, spray the bolts down with Liquid Wrench (or similar) every two days beforehand and drive over some bumpy roads.

Makes things ALOT easier to pop the nuts & blots when the time comes.

Dave's backyard chickens and outdoors says:

My old shocks d9 not have a nut where you pounded on the wrench mine is a round piece there.

hystat says:

Canada: substitute torch for all wrenches

SpareSpacesuit says:

This does not work on coil spring rangers

Mark Wolf says:

I've done this to 3 rangers without removing the tires lol.

ADV Nevada says:

did not work on my 07 ranger sport

Panda Ruiz says:

Heigth of shocks please..
Very important to me

LoneWolf 96 says:

Just got a '99 Ranger and I notice it's quite a bumpy ride. Definitely a good tutorial and affordable parts too! Thanks very much for the info!

Cesar Ornelas says:

Do these things leak? I have a 97 ranger that's leaking some fluid from the front and back. Kind of looks like the shocks
