Awesome tutorial vid man. Also I just purchased a 1974 Nissan 260z, both of
the floor pans are just shit from rust now. Basically would this same exact
process apply to the 260z? Also could you MIG weld or would it have to be
TAC?

I have a 1990 Chevy. My driver side floorboard has a rust hole in it. It’s
on left side of the floorboard right up against where the door meets.
What’s a good way to fix this ?

So you did the floor pan because it was unsafe. what about the cab mount?
the thing is gone. perfect shot at 5:47 you see the rubber and frame
bracket.

What do you do about the lap underneath? Won’t water get between the
laps and cause the welds to rust?

Thats a great idea, I’ve seen it done with rivets before and it works out
pretty well!

I have everything I need to do this but my kick panels are also rusted out
and I have nothing to weld the outside edge of the floor pan to. Any ideas
what to do? I’m thinking of welding in a patch panel to the kick panel but
then the floor pan will have to be trimmed to fit.

Wow! You made that look so easy, Great Video, My 84 F150 has some rust
where you can see through but tiny holes, Do recommend still replacing the
floor panels??

I guess you could call it a rocker panel also but it looks like it’s welded
to kick panel but since it’s all rusted out, I have no idea how it is
supposed to be.

Nope. If this was going to be a professional restoration then I think it’d
be a good idea to replace the cab mounts though (which act as the
subfloor). My crossmembers were in good shape though, so welding in a new
floor pan was all that had to be done to make it nice and strong.

Exactly what I am going to do with my 78 Dodge W150 4X4. However, since I
do not weld, am gonna seat with gasket material and about a zillion rivets.
