Thanks for the video. My 2000 Windstar has intermittently been having trouble starting over the past 3 years. Blew the fuel fuses at one time, and also replaced the fuel relay. Eventually it would work again, sometimes for months at a time, but as soon as the weather changes from hot to cold, the pump always seems to fall asleep on us. So it’s definitely time to change her out, especially since I have your video to go by. I really appreciate you taking the time to make and post it. Blessings.

He always filled up at a fuel station that was known for bad fuel, I think that’s what caused this one to commit suicide, but I’ll keep that in mind for next time, thanks for the info
The only things I would ad to this process is to inspect (& clean if necessary) the tank inside for whatever may have plugged the pickup screen. Also check the old fuel filter to see if it had any blockage. You should be able to blow air through the filter with little or no resistance. On mine black “dust” came out of the outlet.

I believe that I placed the jack underneath the spring pocket on the axle on each side, it’s a nice wide area to place the saddle of the jack on, and it is reinforced and strong, so it’s a really safe place to lift it.
P.S. I did each side separately, I’ve heard horror stories of people bending the stamped steel axle by trying to jack it up in the middle to lift both sides simultaneously, so don’t do that.

The cap was off, as well as the filler neck. The fuel pump has a check valve in the feed line to hold pressure in the fuel rail, pulling the cap does nothing.
Wouldn’t have been so much gas coming from that line if you would have popped that gas cap..just saying…
