Haynes manual should tell you how to do it. Yes, match up the sockets on
the new motor. Your method of discovery is usually how repairing these
things go and you now know the procedure. Congrats! Thanks for putting this

Please tell me how that worked, I will say this much when I took the old
motor out it was heavily corroded so it seems like it could be cause?
