thanks mate
Your welcome, thanks for the positive comment.
yes it will, same wiring
Will do.
I’ll bear that in mind, thanks DJC
Mines being a cunt too… I’ve put in the 4 unlock keys and you can’t get
them back out until the radio is out! They have been sticking out my dash
for 2 weeks now. This thing is impossible to get out.
Thank you! This helps me greatly!
Thanks alot mate, very handy can u tell me what stores you bought the
removal tools and double din adaptor from? SCA? repco?
You shouldn’t criticise when somebody goes to such an effort to help !
Thank you Dj !!!
My factory radio has two connections but my aftermarket only has one. What
do i do?
Thankyou!
This is extremely handy for those that had to disconnect power from the car
for any reason and found the stereo locked after turning the power back on.
Just got the keys and about to check the serial number to get the code.
Very very annoying, Ford. Don’t get ripped off at Ford dealers.
@DjClarky78 I intend to fit an MP3 adapter kit to the Quadlock. I
eventually managed to get the unit out using the 4 keys. The trick is
knowing exactly where to put them and how much pressure to use-not wanting
to bend anything inside that I couldnt see. It’s only when you get the unit
out you can see what the keys actually do. It was a learning process which
took me about 20 minutes.
I bought the keys to retrieve the serial number after researching about it
on the net. Apparently I needed a serial number like M###### or starting
with A, C or L. I was able to remove the unit and found a sticker
underneath it however no such number can be found for us Aussies. The M
numbers must be UK etc. My serial number is 12 digits long. Another poster
I found on Yahoo Answers was in the same boat. Looks like it’s a dealer job
after all. Why is this so difficult?
great video, more dislikes then likes? You done a video to help people and
they dislike, fags
I don’t know mate, is it a big stereo as standard in the MK 1 as well?
Think the wiring would certainly be different.
@MrDyldoBaggins nvm just read u got them on ebay, my bad
@rangoon03 Thanks
@atwistoflemming There’s no real trick to it, just a heads up to take care
when inserting, and make sure they “feel” right before using any force on
them.
Thanks.
Thanks for the video. not sure whats with the negative feedback. great work
@durasf Thankyou! Positive comments are always appreciated and make the
time spent making vids worthwhile.
i live in jakarta indonesia en having trouble to remove the origin audio,
my biggest problem is i dont have that four key that u use, can you show
other way to remove the audio with out that tool, you see that my ford
focus audio is lock en the way to unlock is that i must get the serial key
behind that head unit. thanks
Thank you man…
@atwistoflemming No Probs – You attempting an install soon?
Is the code on the radio somewhere, or do you need the serial number for
the dealer?
You shouldn’t criticise when somebody goes to such an effort to help !
Thank you Dj !!!
Thanks for the feedback I used a Pioneer AVH-P3350BT DVD player with SD/USB
input. Works well. Didn’t change the speakers. Stock ones are fine with a
decent unit to power them.
Cool video. Very helpful. I will be using your wiring diagram for help when
I wire my amp and sub in. Not planning on wiring in a new head unit. Cheers
brah!
Nice one feller – very helpful.
@MrDyldoBaggins Thanks – yes, bought them on ebay. Tried everywhere to find
the removal pins, could only find them as part of a kit. Couldn’t find the
wiring harness anywhere, (aerpro don’t make them). Didn’t even look for the
double din adaptor locally – knew it would be a lot cheaper on ebay.
@scrumsiparacetamol Thanks for your input.
My model focus doesn’t have steering wheel controls for the stereo,
although I know the big brands (mine’s a pioneer) do sell proper adaptor
leads so all the original controls/dash displays still work on most popular
model cars.
just want to say thanks for this
I’d like to add that when you have the 4 keys in position you need to pull
them outwards, i.e. towards the doors on their respective sides, as you
also pull the radio out.
Don’t know why this got any negative reviews it’s really useful thanks
@TrueBlueAussieMateTr Thankyou
