How did u get the coils to sit up in the top right? I’m lowering a 82 Z28
and mine is sitting higher than stock hieght now. I put the flat part in
the top and the round part in at A arm where the 2 holes are at but if you
look in the hole under the A Arm you can see that the coil is sitting on
the little lump and the lump is supose to sit in the coil but its not. How
did you guys get it to sit right in the top?

Hey thanks for posting this video, although there is a somewhat lack of
regard for safety, the process of actually changing the springs is well
documented, however I would never recommend cutting springs unless no other
alternative were available. Some safety tips for you if you do this, first
Wear Steel Toed boots broken toes hurt like a son of a gun (learned that
the hard way), all grinders should have guards and safety glasses are not
enough, a face shield is also needed, you only have one set of eyes and
they are delicate, as mentioned before always try and grind away from
yourself, a jackstand or solid block should be placed under the control arm
(wood is fine) just in case the jack slips or looses hydraulic pressure,
again broken bones hurt like a son of a gun and being stuck under something
like that is no fun if you are alone. Remove the block only when lowering
the control arm, put it back once control arm is back in position and leave
it there until strut/shock is secured at top. Never thought about the
rubber hose to replace worn or missing isolator, good tip, got a creek in
my 82 Z28, might be missing the insulator will have to check it out. One
more thing REPAINT if you do cut anything that was painted then please
repaint the cut end with zinc rich primer and maybe a matching top coat to
prevent immediate rust formation.

If you cut springs you’re fucking retarded.

lilchick34 says:

I cut my springs but it only took about 2 minutes because I didn’t take
anything apart to do it, I simply removed the wheels, jacked the frame of
the car up to take the weight off the suspension and cut the springs while
still in place…easy.

Rey Marquez says:

Oh My God thats the worse thing u can do lol never cut coils they will
never sets the same on the car .ok safety is not using rubber gloves that
wont save your fingers from getting cut off.ok your using the cut off wheel
rotaing to your body thats not safe i have seen those wheel come off and do
bad cuts to people
