There is a pressure switch on the perimeter of the door frame normally down
by the locking spot that can go bad or get broken. It will be physically
located on the frame of the vehicle and not the door. Check that would be
where I would start.
Thanks for posting this. Do you have a video that shows how to fix a ford
escape 2001 rear passenger door latch? When you pull on the handle, either
inside or outside, the door doesn’t open. I’m assuming a rod has come
disconnected. Thanks

Hi! Nice video! That’s what I was looking for a couple a months ago. I have
a problem with the door ajar light, that randomly turns on and off even
driving or stays on the majority of time. Somebody told me that maybe the
actuator is bad or maybe dirty. You can provide me some guide to reach the
actuator, or you can give me some clue about this issue. If I need to
replace that part, how I can ask for it? Thanks!
