The JTA says:

When my 2000 Ford Explorer V8 is having ignition coil problems does that
drain gas, as well as how do you know if its the coil or the cords that
connect to it?

1A Auto Parts says:

@reddog9401 If it has a V6 in it, it should be the same or similar to the
one that we have shown in the video. Hope this helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

It wouldn’t hurt to fix the sensor that’s causing the check engine light to
come on. Worst case senerio is, it’s fixed you won’t keep you from passing
inspection, it might help to cure your issue.

RapscallionStallion says:

Thanks, man!

1A Auto Parts says:

@ecuplanr You may want to check around where you were working to see if
something else may have been disturbed that’s causing the issue. Possibly a
disconnected wire, or bad wire.

22bradsutter says:

will a bad coil make the car shake as you are goin down the raod and make
your check engine light turn on???

1A Auto Parts says:

@dwt56 Have you tried to pull any codes from the vehicle to see what they
may pointing to? If you have some, it should tell you what the issue is
and help to point you in a direction.

Majoreete13 says:

Have a 2006 ford fusion, ignition coil and a/c went out at the same time
replace the igniton coil its still misfire what could it be?

1A Auto Parts says:

@chengg02 I would repair the misfiring cylinder issue first and then see if
it clears the bank codes. If it does not it could be a couple of bad 02
sensors.

1A Auto Parts says:

@dwt56 You could try to replace the spark plugs if they have been in there
for a while and also the coil. It may be the coil that’s acting up. Hope
this helps you out.

1A Auto Parts says:

A bad ignition module could definitely be the issue from what you are
saying.

Willie Dodds says:

Check engine light was one awhile ago but then went off , the code was for
an o2 sensor could that be the cause to these problems, also i tested the
spark plugs by disconnecting the cables while engine was running to see if
all were contributing properly and they were, is there anyway to test the
back ones without removing manifold? Thanks.

Grace Cheng says:

Hi I have a ’99 Ford Explorer and I have just ran the code reader, it says
misfire on cylinder #2 along with P0171 and P0174 which are basically fuel
system running too lean on both Bank 1 and Bank 2. Could those be due to a
defective coil? Please advise…

1A Auto Parts says:

@FastisFast I would have the code read on the check engine light. More than
likely that will tell you what’s causing the issue.

1A Auto Parts says:

@peacehippie32 If it happens more when it’s damp out it could be a coil.
You may want to get a spray bottle with water in it and spray the coil
while the vehicle is running to see if it’s arching out anywhere.

FreeTwo Speak says:

Thanks for your help! I’m going to replace it this weekend and hopefully
that solves my issue.

justinking19951 says:

thanks man, this helped me so much

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the spark plugs to see what condition they are in.

dwt56 says:

@1aauto the codes say po300 mostly and random other cylinders misfireing. I
was wondering if my 2004 4.0 has a camshaft synchronizer ….I here a chirp
coming from under the hood sounds like a cricket. One thread I read says
that the SOHC 4.0 does not have the synchronizer…I am a machinist not a
car mechanic so I am lost on this type of system.

FreeTwo Speak says:

I have a 1991 Olds 98 Regency Elite with a 3.8/V-6 engine and the motor
will only turn but won’t crank when I try to start it. I took the ignition
module off and noticed it had a crack on the inside on the black part of
the module. Before I replace it (around $120) do you think that is my
problem? Thanks for your help.

Cars show Island says:

I have a 2004 ford ranger V6 85,000 km Should I change the coil, I don’t
know how many miles this part is good for.

TJ Case says:

Same thing happened to me just a few minutes ago. Car started shaking and
missing really bad while driving (been raining for days) with a check
engine light that went away after about 2 minutes. I got it home, let it
sit and started it back up and it isnt doing it. It has been acting funny
for a few weeks now. Bad coil?

Rich Tarpley says:

I have a 1994 ford ranger, when i try to start it in the morning it cranks
over but wont start for about 30 min. what could this be

1A Auto Parts says:

@chengg02 If the codes point to a bad O2 sensor then I would also replace
them to see if that helps to clear things up. It might help the issue out.

Willie Dodds says:

Check engine light was on for a while and the code had come up as an o2
sensor and i was told that it wasnt something to really worry about if i
didnt mind a little lower gas mileage could this sensor be causing these
problems? I tested the front three spark plugs by disconnecting the cable
while engine was running to see if all were contributing is there anyway to
test the back 3 with out removing the manifold and pulling them out?

1A Auto Parts says:

@dwt56 That code may point to a multiple cylinder misfire. If you have
other codes behind it, they should pinpoint what cylinder may be causing
the issue. You could try to clear out the code and see if it comes back
after 3-4 heat cycles.

Willie Dodds says:

have a 2001 ford escape, idles rough and is rough accelerating through
first gear but seems fine in second and third but when i slow back down in
to first it kind of stutters and ideas what this could be?

peacehippie32 says:

I am having trouble with my 92 f-150 ford. It would start but later on when
i turn it off. It would not turn back on. I don’t know if it is the
ignition module, i took it to many mechanics but they tell me it one thing
and they supposedly they fix it and later on in a couple of days. it would
do the same, i already change the gas pumps and the coil and i still have
the same problem. i am not good with cars and i need some advice.

1A Auto Parts says:

@22bradsutter A bad coil will cause misfiring which can cause the vehicle
to shake and a malfunctioning coil will usually turn on a check engine
light. There can be other causes though.

ChiynoteMusic says:

Hey would this work for a 1997 ford Taurus GL it is a v6 engine by the way?

Rock Pate says:

I have a 2000 ford explorer v6 4.0 when accelerating to 30 mph the car
vibrates and eats up a lot of gas. this also happens when you reach 50 mph
. I do not have the engine light on. any help? thanks

dwt56 says:

@chengg did you get your truck fixed? mine does the same thing at about 17
miles get misfire code and at times truck misfires. It all started after
replacing seperated crankshaft pulley. I have replaced wires ,plugs and
coil pack..still does it. Crankshaft sensor appears to be ok. Help!!

MsRealamerican says:

thank you very much. you make it a lot easier for us that cant afford a
mechanic to do it ourselves

1A Auto Parts says:

If it’s a bad coil that’s causing the issue it should. We carry new ones on

Alexis Parkins says:

i have a 2002 f 150 4.2 ltr and the engine runs rough with a check engine
light. i am getting 2 codes one is 316 misfire during start up under 1000
rpm and the other is 302 cylinder two misfire. Ive changed the plug wires
and that specific plug, but keep getting the same codes. im going to change
the rest of the plugs but could there be something else before i change the
coil pack or should i try that next? any help would be greatly appreciated

dwt56 says:

changed plugs, wires, and coil pack engine light still on with code p0300

1A Auto Parts says:

You could also check the fuel pressure to see if you’re getting the right
fuel pressure to the motor. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

It could be that,or you also may want to check the EGR valve to see if it’s
bad. A bad EGR valve could also make the vehicle run rough.

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Willie, There are a few things that could cause this. If it’s an
automatic, make sure the tranny fluid is up to it’s proper level. Also
check the spark plugs and wires to see if they need to be replaced. Also if
there’s a check engine light on have the code pulled, because this should
tell you what the issue is. Hope this helps you out.

reddog9401 says:

is this video the same procedure for 2001 f150. code po303 missfire on 3
,bad coil? very rough.love your videos

1A Auto Parts says:

@FastisFast I would have the code run on the check engine light, and I bet
that will tell you what’s causing the issue.
