Thanks for the video guys! Just found out my alternator went out yesterday so im going to give it a shot. .. thanks for the quality of the video as well

1aauto says:

There may be an issue with it, or with the wiring somewhere on the vehicle.

jcstx10 says:

On my 99 explorer the rpm’s jump between 500 to 800 at idle. But only when I have the radio and ac on. Also the voltage gauge will drop to. Is this the alternator going out?

Diego Eff says:

Check your battery terminals make sure they’re clean and your negative and positive are snug tight. Also make sure your ground and positive cable aren’t loose (Most Likely Down By Transmission). If everythings fine after you’ve gone down the list and the car still isn’t starting, it is probably your starter

I have no automotive skills whatsoever but this video made me feel like a pro! It was great that you were calling off the tool sizes as you went along. I got to a point where I realized I didn’t have all the tools to complete the job. A quick run to the auto store fixed me right up and I was able to finish the job.

There are a lot of fluffy kitty videos on YouTube but this video is what makes the internet awesome! Thanks!

Thanks for watching.

Your local auto parts store should have a tester that they can put it on for you. If you need a new alternator we sell brand new ones with NO CORE charges, and free shipping. These are brand new alternators not rebuild ones that tend to be hit or miss in most cases. Have a great day, 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Do you have a video on how to diagnose your alternator? I took my car to the shop because all of a sudden it wont start. All the lights come on but it dosnt crank or anything. And its not the battery. They dont know what it is. Any ideas

Exactly what I needed! I have a Ford Ranger 2007 and the parts and everything is the same.

Thanks a lot!!!

I just did this thanks to this video. The tension pulley is a biiatcha if you don’t “Eat your Wheaties.” I didn’t need to remove the air intake assembly on mine. Wouldn’t have helped and there were a few solid pipes that would be more trouble than it’s worth to remove. Other than that, it went pretty much like you see here. I especially liked and used your leverage trick with the wrench. I installed a rebuilt ’99 Explorer 130amp in my 2000 Ranger. Works like a champ! Thanks again.

class-a mechanic. where is yor shop located? i want to have you do all of my work. one thing i noticed you didn’t do, was spray some lithium grease inside the alternator. my last mechanic did that and it put out extra voltage. can you post a video showing me how to replace my windshield wipers and maybe one of how to change the air filter?
