This helped so much cause i thought it was the blower motor but its the
resistor so im saving tons

1A Auto Parts says:

The thing about it is you will have to remove the actuator to get it in the
right position for the defrost so you might as well replace the unit when
you take it off to manually push the door and actuator to the desired
position.

Scullonaut says:

will do thanks for the suggestion!

1A Auto Parts says:

This is for just for issues with speed of the fan and not the blend door
actuator. Thank you for watching our video on Youtube!

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like you may need to replace the wire end that plugs into the
resistor.

Scullonaut says:

Great videos! On my ’93 ranger when i turn on the heater blower motor, It
causes the voltage gauge to dip down to about 8v which causes my alternator
to overheat and trip its protection switch. I’m guessing its a short, bad
motor or bad resistor. Can you give me any advice on how to determine which
is the culprit? Thanks!

1A Auto Parts says:

Test the power going to them. If there’s power to the blower motor and it
doesn’t work it may be that the blower motor has gone bad. You can also
test the resistor the same way. you may also want to check the fuses to see
if any have burned out. We carry new blower motors and resistors on our

On my 1998 ford ranger my fan doesn’t run on speeds one or two, I have
already replaced the blower motor resistor, but when I wiggle the wires
going to the resistor the fan starts to work on one, three and four, only
for a few minutes then it goes back to three and four only. Is it the
wiring that’s gone bad or is it the selector switch in the cab. Thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to inspect the plug ends of both the blower motor and blower
motor resistor to see if they have heated up and need to be replaced.

Vacmasterthegreat says:

on my 92 s10, it seems to blow air faintly through the defrost and mainly
through the floor vents. I’m assuming the blend door actuator is bad/stuck.
instead of screwing around replacing that, is there any way I can manually
set it to work solely on defrost, because that is probably the only setting
I will ever need it for.

TheBigclow says:

Thanks for the video. I am going to give it a shot right now!!

Grant Stegall says:

My blower does not work at all. Do you think it is the resistor or the
whole motor unit? Is there any way I can tell before I replace one or the
other?

Great video!

DragonTurdzz says:

Does this apply if my truck only blows air through the defrost area? Or is
it the blower?

this is the second vid of your’s that saved me time & $! Thanks!!!
