That is just about the dumbest design for a fuel pump I’ve ever seen!!!
Thanx for the info tho!!

AirtexFuelPumps says:

In 2000 the Ford Ranger did use a different fuel pump. This video will
still be good information in changing the fuel pump, but it is not the
correct part number for the pump. There are several options for the 2000
Ranger (depending on engine size and wheel base). You can go to the
FuelPumpU website and do a vehicle search based on your VIN or
Year/Make/Model/Engine, etc. to find the exact part you need. Hope this
helps. Thanks for watching.

So glad you found it helpful. Thanks for the kind words!

I have a 1999 Mazda B4000. For the life of me, I cant get the fuel line off

Hi .my gas gauge stop working .what can be the problem a fuse or someting
in the tank .thanks in advance

AirtexFuelPumps says:

They are actually different parts as the tank sizes are different between
the different wheelbases. This makes the sending units different & not
interchangeable. The pumps themselves are the same, but the assemblies are
different because of this. Thanks for the question.

AirtexFuelPumps says:

There are a few different things that can effect the fuel gauge operation.
It could be the sender assembly inside of the fuel tank, the fuel gauge in
the dash, or in the wiring connecting the two. You will need to diagnose
this to verify where the problem is. To do that you will need a Digital
Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM). You can view some of our other videos for tips on
how to diagnose this concern or call our free Technical Assistance line for
further help: 800-424-7839.

Is the 2000 Ford Ranger the same exact setup, or did they change something
along the lines of gas tank or pump? I am just wondering because it doesn’t
specify for the ranger but it does for the Mazda.

This is one of the best technical videos I’ve ever seen. Good work and
thanks for posting it.

AirtexFuelPumps says:

They can be quite hard to remove as they get rust & dirt in the lock. To
help remove, use some penetrating oil & spray into the fitting. Use an air
compressor to blow around the lock. Repeat with penetrating oil. Then work
the fitting back & forth some (be careful not to damage the line). After
this, try to use the line release tool again. Hopefully it is easier to
unlock. If not, repeat this process. If you need more help you can watch
our fuel line fitting video or call 800-424-7839. Good luck

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 2.5L with a 19.5 gallon tank; 7′ bed. I am
curious if the fuel pump assembly for 6′ bed reg cab, 7′ bed reg cab, and
super cab are truly different parts, or are they inter-changeable?
