Had to do the rear main seal on my 2004 Ford Explorer rebuild project. Never done one before, so thought I’d show you what I did after watching a few other videos. Those video’s didn’t quite give me enough detail to be super confident on this, so I hope this video helps you out with good advice. Be sure to check out Part 2 shows if this was successful or not.
I’m happy to do my best to answer any questions, but keep in mind this was my first time doing this, so I am by no means an expert.
FYI I ordered a seal kit from someone online and as I mentioned in the video the rear main seal was the wrong one. A couple other pieces in that kit also weren’t right. I ordered online and wish I would’ve called the company to verify I had the right kit before ordering. Do yourself a favor and do that! Will save time and money! The Fel Pro seal was around $20-$30 at my local O’Reilly’s.

How far do you push the seal in ? All the way until it stops ?
Seems legit dawg. So many videos don’t show the necessary details of the actual seal install yet the thumbnail says how to . I see that you explain the details and show exactly how so thanx.
My 4.0 ranger has a rear main seal leak. Just removed the flywheel and am about to remove the seal. Great video
