She has obviously never heard of Blaise Pascal. Be VERY careful how
pressure you put into that reservoir. Force is equal to pressure times
area. If the surface area is 100 sq. inches and the pressure is 100 psi you
get 10,000 pounds of force!!!!!!!! Ka frickin’ boom!!!

What about the possibility of BLOWING out a seal on the Ford with too much
pressure??

Goes to prove that you don’t have to look/act like a “grunge”, to
operate/fix equipment, especially the “old stuff”.☺ My wife is better at
operating, as opposed to fixing. Oh, she’s GREAT at DIS-assembly. But the
RE-assembly she needs a bit of coaching with, still! And, she doesn’t look
like no “Tugboat Annie” herself, either, although she does insist upon a
pair of those light-duty Mechanix-brand gloves, since she ain’t got
“elephant-hide” on her knuckles like I do.☺

I’m proud of her liking to help me, especially since she seems to enjoy it
so much. And quite often, that smaller-hand will fit in spots that my
beaten & swollen ones won’t, and therefore get the job done and over with.

That, and I must admit: That “three and a half-fingered” grease/sweat-wipe
across her cheek looks a lot-better on m’ little red-haired Katy, than it
do on ME…..!☺

Great job Rachel. If I send my wife to come live with you. Can you teach
her what you know about tractors? The only thing she can ever seem to
remember is trying not to break her finger nails. Why oh why did I ever
marry a city girl????????? LOL

Sidney Mathious says:

That was interesting to know. That tractor still have plenty of life in it
and could work for another generation if treated good.

Bruce Castonguay says:

Great Video Well done and described . I have heard of this Hydraulic
priming method talked about on some tractor sites and they warn to not
build up any pressure past a few LBS or this could harm seals. Just use air
tenderly and sparingly as she did just enough to move hydraulic fluid into
pickup tub and hyd pump area. and when you see the 3 point lifting stop
using air.

David Teske says:

this would be a great way to ruin oil seals and create a leak

How nice…
