Ford Manual Transmission Weld Repair.

Ford Manual Transmission Weld Repair.

Hey Guys, Well, this one is a little different. While its not quite heavy equipment, It is a very necessary Item. This is a Ford Manual transmission that had a bad day. The clutch fork pivot ball boss broke apart. So, My buddies asked if I could glue it back together, and I said….Maybe!!!. If this is something you or any of your friends have come across, I hope this video helps shed some light on some things to consider when trying to make a similar repair.
Thanks for your support and here is a link to my amazon account that will show you some of the tools I use here at the shop. Anything you purchase there will help offset some of the time and cost of making these types of videos. Thanks for your support in advance as always.

Hey Isaac. I've got an idea for an upcoming video…show us something you can't do! Just kidding. Fantastic repair as usual. Every video you put out is certainly worth the watch!

Good work Isaac . That trans though . I never seen a ford trans with a throw out collar that was casted into an aluminum trans though … Even if it was an iron unit, it would be a goofy design .Not a good design for sure . You'd think that it belonged to a yugo . lol A guy would think that the throw out stud boss wouldn't be the thing that broke . lol

Brad Stubbings says:

Mine did the same thing, but didn't break the bell housing. Diesel fuel leak from the fuel bowl travels between block and and trany washing the grease out of the throw out bearing. The bearing froze up and came apart causing the fork to shear the pivot ball off the bell housing. Must be on a 7.3 power stroke lol. My brother made an aluminum stand off and I I got a 2 inch long pivot ball threaded with 2 lock nuts. I drilled out the spot on the bell housing and put the ball threw it and set the depth of the threads and tightened the nuts. Works just like before. Keep an eye on fuel leaks, expensive fix. Clutch disk, preasure plate, throw out bearing and a new fork.

Well Issac you saved the transmission from the jaws of death. And gave us tubers a good lesson in cast aluminum repairs.

Must be a Ford thing – I had a Ford with an auto box that disintegrated at 40k miles..

Your content makes me smile! I asked before and am curious, are you of indigenous American descent or even Mexican? My apologies if I offend, but I am a proud mix of PINE RIDGE OGLALA SIOUX, and Red Lake Band of CHIPPEWA indigenous tribes. And am just curious cuz you have that rez way about you
