I thought the Ford Pinto was named after some beans. Welp, I guess I can use a Pinto to cook Pinto beans
My neighbor across the street used to drive a Ford Pinto. One day he got rear ended as he was pulling out backwards from his driveway. Sure enough, the Pinto burst into flames. He got out and no one was hurt but the car was a charred mess in the end.
My friend Dan has a Ford pinto in storage.

Pinto 2.0 – ford crown victoria 1998 to 2012. Do you known how many police officers burned to death after the car turned into a compacted accordion preventing the officers or people from opening the doors after the axle tore away from the torque arms and punctured the fuel tank!

A coworker bought a ford pinto. After a professional society meeting he was rear ended at low speed by another coworker’s car. Fortunately, he was able to dive out the drivers window and avoid most of the fireball.
Moral of the story, stay away from American Cars….. Unhealthy American capitalism has always being evil..
They have a saying for old Fords…….Found on rubbish dump……..even when they were new.
My ex-girlfriend’s mom had one. We were just teenagers. We pushed it out of the driveway to the road which was atop a big hill. We jumped in and dumped the clutch near the bottom of the hill. We ended at a Motorcross raceway at 3 am!! We did a few hills and then we were stuck at the bottom of a big hill with my girlfriend driving. Well, she couldn't get it up the hill. I told her that I'm not going to jail so let me drive. I revved the engine to about 3,000 RPMs and dumped the clutch and we flew up the hill and we got out of there! The Pinto had a 2.0 L engine.

I never really was a Ford guy, and now I never will be. The Ford Pinto and the Chrysler K cars, both unreliable, unsafe pieces of absolute garbage and both made under Lee Iacocca – what a turd of a human being.
My Dad had a 71 green one with a manual trans, traded it in for a Yellow 75 VW bug it was the right color it was a lemon, first year for the EFI and cat converter it seems like Dad always broke down on Fridays and had to be towed home, Ran great the rest of the time.
I learned how to drive a manual trans in that pinto.
Dad ended buying a Toyota pickup later on, kept it for many years.
