I just completed replacing the cable ends. I found that removing the door
panels on my F 150 was a trick. There is a little bolt at the bottom of the
door panel !! Have to do a little prying but they finally came off. I also
had to remove the upper and lower latches along with the actuator hardware.
No way to remove the old ends with out doing it. The torx head screws can
become a nite mare during removal. They want to strip out. Got em out with
a pair of vice grips.Had to drill and cut one head off of a bottom latch.
Channel locks work great for seating the new cable ends, with the hardware
removed. Glad I’ll never have to replace them again ! This is a great
innovation.

Is there something like this out there for 2005 F-150 with supercabsuicide
doors? It seems all off these types are for 97-04 but the door still
functions nearly the same. The only difference I can see is the actual
latch and not really the cabling. Thanks

Looks like the 2004 f150 model that I have doesn’t allow for easy install
as shown with your c clamp method. Can you provide some guidance there
before I pull the trigger on some klamms

dennis anderson says:

great video instructional, however, video graphics rather weak for my
computer, could you tell me exactly where the cable ball goes into the
lower door latch. I think it has to be in the center, however, slips out
very easily. I have 1999 f250 suicide doors

Kirk Smith says:

Great parts, found them on ebay when I searched for Klamm door cable
repair, then just select your vehicle type–Ranger, Econoline, F-Series,
etc. Not rocket science to get the interior trim off and latches/cables
out if you have ever done any diy work. Instructions included with parts
explain what to trim away on the removed cables and latches, installed new
parts in about 15 min, had everything back together in another 15 min and
doors work as good as new.

Robert Owens says:

The video is great, I ordered the kit to repair one door last week,
installed just as you said in video very easy, works great. the other side
got up set and broke just ordered a second set to fix the other door. Great
love will pass along to anyone I find in need of
repairing a F series door cable before buying cable-latch assy from dealer.

Michael Lee says:

helpful for anyone with an older f150 1997 – 2004. Saved me almost $200
parts and labor.

James Huffman says:

GREAT idea I would rather support someone other than for for a fix.

sunshinedave37 says:

the cable is off, how do i open door

John Brann says:

I got my fittings in and an hour later had everything back I working . the
video plus fittings saved me a few hundred the dealer wanted. thank you mr
klamm

ERS. Remote says:

Thanks, but using your suggestion turned up 0.
I dropped off the words, ‘best method’ and, BINGO…fyi

w0lvez1 says:

I had mine fixed without removing any internal parts including the cable
without using any special tools ten years ago. I just tied a plastic nylon
string tied somewhere inside the door.

peggysx says:

Alejandro, just go to EBAY and look for ‘KlammAuto’ or Ford Door lock cable
repair BEST METHOD.

Alejandro Castillo says:

I researched google and no way I can find this aluminum end clamps. Can you
please share the real name and manufacturer of these. Where can I buy
them?. What is the lenght that I need?. Searched for Klamm end clamps, and
nothing came up resembling the ones you used.

Steven Greco says:

my back door is closed and i can not open it to fix it. how do i open the
Cargo Door

a Bad Mojo says:

The door won’t open. How do I get the door open to make repairs.
Thanks, Ken.

fallon boy says:

Klamm manufactures them. They can be bought on EBAY.

ERS. Terry says:

Hi, great video!
Did I miss something though? Where can I get the aluminum parts you crimped
onto the cables?
Thanks, Terry.
