Tip you should wait for the trans to reach 120*F then remove the plug, and
let drip.

nomebear says:

Amazing! I appreciate all of the details that were covered in your video.
We’re experiencing valve issues with our and want to take a shot at this
repair. Thank you.

Sergio Quadros says:

Well my friend

I wish I had encouraging news. But unfortunately, no success. I replaced a
new radiator and flushed out the tranny by draining the pan. I checked for
any debris, I removed the solenoids pack and checked it, clean. I checked
the filter, clean. I filled it with new 5 tranny oil. All was good when I
drove it home, every thing was going great. Until, I reached 25 or 30 miles
from my mechanics garage. It started reacting the same as before. It seams
that it gets hot it looses it’s gear. I don’t know what els to do. I just
wish ford could help some how for us to understand what could be the
problem. I’m thinking of replacing the PCM this time and see if that can be
the cause. I don’t understand how the PCM could be the issue. Nevertheless,
I’ll try it and see what happens. The problem is spending money on things
I’m not sure the it will work.

hey dude I have a question. Well my brother is thinking of chaning a
solenoid pack on his 08 explorer. 4.0 V6. couple mths ago I took it with my
gf’s dad who is a retired mechanic, What we did was change the fuel filter,
spark plugs and the transmission filter and Mercon V trans fluid. My bro
said it felt a lot better but sometimes it will still shift hard from 3rd
to 4th. Also from Park when you shift into D, it will not engage so you
have to go to 2 first then back up to D and then it will engage. My
question on the shifting is can it be the cable needs to be adjusted?? We
can do the solenoid pack your video will help us out. Hope to hear back
from you soon. Thank you

These trucks are notorious for having an issue with the reverse bands man. Loss
of reverse in your Ford transmission 4R44E/4R55E see this video for an idea
of what im talking about (assuming this is the same transmission you have)

Ernesto Fernandez says:

I have an 04 ford explorer the od light flashes and the the service engine
light is on. 86k miles on it. Shifts hard when I drive funny thing is it
doesn’t shift right away. Usually when I’m 3 or 4 miles on the road and the
od light comes on. Transmission “experts” say I need a new transmission. I
know its the trans solenoid pack. How much to usually change that parts and
labor. I’m hearing different prices but no trans “expert” wants to do it.

Butter butterfashions says:

I went to the ford dealership to get a flush and refill becacause the
transmission signal came on in my truck that the oil was low and Jiffy lube
couldnt get to the transmission. A week after the truck was driving funny
and didnt want to move and I had it towed back to the dealership and they
told I have to replace the transmission for $3000+..or trade in for another
truck. It didnt seem right. What can I do.

jamie fisher says:

What was wrong/symptoms from this vehicle before you made replacements.?

Thanks for the info…

Thanks for the great step-by-step video.

My 2009 Explorer 5R55S recently unable to catch the 2nd gear when hot.
Usually happened when back out from parking lot, shift from R to 1st and
then to 2nd gear. The RPM will shot up to 3k and the truck barely move
above 10 MPH. If I shut off the engine and restart, everything is back to
normal. Happens very in frequently. Went to dealer twice, can’t find any
code. Fresh transmission fluid. No leak. Truck got 57k miles. Any
suggestion on possible cause and where to start checking? Thanks for the
advice.

I have a 2002 Mountaneer with the 5r55w, blinking OD light, hard shifting
from 2nd to 3rd and a 0745, will this fix it? Or do the bands probably need
tightened or replaced?

omar vivas says:

after a while that i start driving it and i have to turn the truk off in

My wife’s 2003 Explorer has the trouble code P0775, it is also slow to
shift between first and second, the check engine light is on and the OD
light is flashing. Will replacing the power pack resolve above said issues?

Mike Varriale says:

Raisi Yañez says:

Chris Kim says:

im guessing this is a common problem with this explorer cause mine started
to d the same flashing o/d light and service engine soon light. got the obd
as gear ratio 1,3,4 incorrect and torque converter solenoid. Can i just
replace the torque converter solenoid? can i go anywhere to get this other
than the dealer cause they want 400 bucks for it

Mike Varriale says:

Ok thank you for the help

Juan Duron says:

And it shifts funny to second gear when i accelerate hard

stabmo says:

I have an 03 ford explorer xlt 4×4 with the v6 4.0l with the code po755.
check engine light is on. shifts from 1st to 2nd gear at a higher rpm than
normal. Roughly around 20mph/ 3k rpm. Also 5th gear seems non existing
while driving a longer distance. Just wondering if changing the solenoid
pack will do anything or not.

DZEyoyo123 says:

Is that the same vehicle that had the radiator replacement?
