Excellent video, thanks so much!
Great camerawork and explanations.
One thing I can think of that would be helpful is the part number for the resistor.
With that much corrosion, if suspect a leaky windshield seal. Most of those windshield quickie change places do shoddy, fast work, from my experience.
Great timing, I need to change this exact same part….have one that went out over the weekend shooting sparks from the connector to the resistor. Cleaned it up and it worked somewhat, but definitely just gonna change it since it’s badly corroded.
This is the second video of yours I have used to fix a problem on my 99 escort you have saved me a lot of money thanks for posting these videos
Yay! I love a simple fix!

No worries Rich, it is a good intro.
There still are a few out there.
Thanks rich!! I love your escort videos on this gen!!
Great video, thanks Rich!
I can go back to the old way i was doing it but i thought this was fun and entertaining maybe i should have done a survey.
I don’t like the intro graphic or sound. This channel is great and doesn’t need any changes.
Absolutely fantastic video. Super informative and crystal clear. Good job, sir!

Very nice 🙂 Thanks Rich !!!
Now I wonder if there was some significant water penetration into the HVAC system which allowed the resistor to become so corroded? Time will tell…

Smashing tutorial 🙂
For giggles, check that thermal fuse on the resistor assembly, it looks common to all modes.
But the old unit did look bloody horrible so its had its day 🙂
To ground, the switch on your car switches the ground , the fan always has a 12v constant .
nice video, and good information, thanks
when you put the jumper wire on the switch, what did you have it hooked up to so the motor would run?
