Fiesta WQ 2007 Front Disc Pad How to Replace Change Do it Yourself

How I changed the front disc pads in a 2007 WQ Ford Fiesta. There is a question mark over the best type of grease to use on the calliper sliding pins. It appears rubber grease is the best…

Where can i get that clip from (the one on the last seconds of this video)?
My idiot son threw them away and i m left with a loose sound in my
wheels….

I have the exact same car and done this job myself yesterday, I done
everything the exact same as you. Before i done the job the break pedal was
nice a stiff and still had good action in it. After ive changed the pads
even after i pump the pedal my break pedal is like mush, I have been
looking around and it sounds like i need to bleed the lines, but im just
wondering why.. Ive never had to do it before when changing pads on any
other cars

Hi Scott,
Have you done the pads and/or disks on your Mercedes? I am going to tackle
both on my W204 soon and wonder if you have any experience? From what I can
tell the design is fairly similar to the Fiesta. Just need to decide now
whether to get genuine MB parts from the dealer or save a few quid and get
after market…. Probably Pagid. Cheers and keep up the videos – I just
watched your pressure brake bleed demo.

Very good tutorial, I’ll be changing mine next week thanks.

Scott, excellent tutorial. Thank you.

Do you have a mechanics manual for the WQ Fiesta? Haynes/Gregory’s does not
seem to produce one.

David Elam says:

Excellent video. We’ve just bought a Ford Fusion and that needs the pads
doing. I’m sure the calipers are the same so your video will be very
helpful.

Thanks for the quick reply. From my research the car has a Yamaha engine
and a Toyota transmission, so on paper it should be bombproof. My only
concern is electrical problems that German cars are notorious for. Think
I’ll take a leap of faith and go for it. Ford has never let me down.
Thanks, Scott

I’m thinking about picking up one of these cars in Taiwan. Little skeptical
about how it will hold up in hot climates? You sound Aussie, so I assume
you would know? Also, how do you save on parts in Australia? They must cost
a fortune coming from Germany. BTW, I Iike the format of your channel. Any
kind of DIY tips will definitely increase your net worth. Good luck.

Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with it. Scott

Thanks for your nice comments. I do appreciate it. Yes I’m an Aussie. The
Fiesta has no problems in the Australian climate and has been highly rated.
Parts can be expensive so eBay is your friend. The only thing my daughter
has bought for this car to date is the ceramic pads and wiper blades. She
bought them both from the UK. eBay UK is your friend with these sort of
cars. I have a Mercedes C320CDI and buy everything from eBay UK or eBay
Germany at a fraction of the price. Kind regards, Scott

cheers for the vid. My pads are due for a change soon. I’ve done this
before, but not on this vehicle. Thanks!
