+thundercloud47 I also noticed and enjoyed the straight to the point
video. Thanks beltstowing for this video. Its great for the do it
yourselfer!
I agree with Dos Uno that your video was the most helpful video. The best
part is how straight to the point you are and your knowledge that you throw
in about the grounding problems is a great fact for anybody who owns these
cars to know
Awesome video. I like how it was quick and very informative. It was also
very easy to understand and shot well. Thanks!
Do u kno if the 200 amp crown vic alternator would fit a 5.4 ford motor
Thanks, man. Short and sweet, helped me get the job done.
Great *Ford alternator & serpentine belt replacement* walk through video!
Good job! Very cool to learn that it’s pretty much the *same procedure
for any Ford car or truck*. Thank you for sharing +beltstowing! *I love
your Country style and delivery!* Ain’t nobody got time for all that fluff!
After watching this short video, *anyone with a socket set can save
themselves a few hundred bucks* and change their alternator and serpentine
belt themselves, easy!
I’m replacing my Excursion V-10 alternator at 198K miles, and this video
was a perfect match for my “pre-game” information. Awesome tip about *corrosion
causing a false bad alternator scenario.* I’m going to make “shiny metal”
on my mounting areas and have my old one tested before installing the new
one, maybe I’ll save $200.
*Follow up:* The entire job took only an hour and a half, and the old
alternator was indeed bad.

all it takes is knowing that it can be done , and a little common sense
when doing the repair , it is really easy , just aggravating is all , good
luck fixing yours , just take your time , and think outside the box while
doing it , and you will do just fine , hit a snag along the way , just
comment , and I will walk you through , I check comments daily , so no
fears 😉
everyone likes bacon !
yup , be sure to remember my hose fix in the next vid , you might use that
trick this summer lol
108 views , and you are the only comment , what in the hell is up with that
???? and yes , blow that mother trucker up !!! now do it to it , like
pruitt used to do it !!
Another thing I liked about your video was that you did not stand there
and tell us your life story before doing the work. I don’t mind hearing
people make a speech but there are some folks on here who love hearing
themselves talk. I have liked, subscribed, and added this Vid to my
playlist. Thanks Again!
Chilidogs
unless your running stereo equip or something , a standard replacement will
be fine , and yes it’s a really easy swap
Would you recommend grease over dielectric smeary-gook?
pussy flavored ice cream !!!
Gonna replace my alternator on a 1999 p-71 Crown Victoria. Thanks for all
the info, excited to get the car back on the road!
depends really , a few thousand miles most likely , but it will fail
eventually , it’s a common issue that hits in the 150k range on civilian
cars , and about every 50k in police cars …
the battery light on the dash of my car comes on intermitted and someone
told me its probably my alternator… to check all the wires and the
grounds.. where are the grounds?.. all I see in this video are two places
to check on the alternator… any ideas what I should do?
This video remimds me, I have to make you a video with the mercury…..
at least it’s not cluttering up your yard still though right? good luck on
collecting the money too. from the sounds of it that might never happen and
if so i’d never do another thing for that one.
so the dumb dumb finaly paid ya to fix it lmao!
just wait , it’s not such a rig , and it actually looks like it should be
there lol
only need a few tools
so instead of crushing it you are going to use it for a how to tool for
other videos? nice!
Good how to vid!! I never knew that abou the grounding problems!!
the motor in that cop car sounds like shit. good info, fuckin ford and
their electrical problems. i owned and ltd crown vic and know i own a 1994
ford crown vic lx and that car is a fuckin lemon. 107,500 miles new trans,
rebut rear end, new front suspension and now the fuckin’ alternator whines
and half charges wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙁 I drive a ford mustang dn its got 160k on it hah so yeah you sound like
you know… I plan on building this car up and putting a procharger on it
eventually, will a standard alternator be good or should I get one of the
expensive ones? I know it doesn’t give you hp haha but does it even make a
difference?…. also seems basic enough to change, unhook battery, put
wrench in tensioner move it belt loosens slip belt off, remove two bolts
unclip 2 things then put other on in reverse order..
you can buy a replacement pig tail at the dealer , it comes with all items
required , and full instructions , it’s like $15 if I remember right …
How do I replace the pigtail connector on the alternator?
Thank you for this video my good sir
thanks so much for putting this video up… and the one on how to bypass
that heater hose that runs under the intake ! ive got a 96 grand marquis,
which is the very same setup, and you showed me that this IS something I
can tackle myself to replace/bypass that hose.. Saved me a bunch of money !
thanks
so you don’t think theres a chance that its just random haha or that
something is loose?…. alternators are kinda expensive and I would rather
not buy one unless I reaalllly have to… sometimes I can drive and it
doesn’t come on at all other times it comes on stays on for a couple
minutes then goes off again… how long do you think this will last before
I am left stranded?
yup , any car can do it , that little ground strap everyone forgets is very
important lol !!!
@beltstowing
Without the Raspberry jelly topping I hope. nobody likes auntie flo’s
Raspberry jelly toppings.
Very cool!! Monday one of my dodges caught on fire under the dash!!
lmfao!!
oh
nope , still no payment , but it is gone , I can beat the $ out of his ass
if I have too , and I might enjoy that more than cash !!!
lol
well you aint kidding when you say those 4.6 fords have grounding problems
and shorts the batteries out because my 95 lincoln continental nearly
killed me when the battery shorted out while going down the road at 70
mph..yeah wound up doing a dukes of hazzards jump into a ditch all cause
the car died..not a fun experience to say the least..
Thank You Beltstowing! So far this is the best video I have seen on how to
remove those wires from the back of the Alternator. I’m replacing one on an
04 F-150. Almost completely different from what you have here BUT you still
taught me some things. I did not know that about Fords grounding out. I
have owned Fords many years but never had that problem. I’m just an old man
who still tries to do his own work. I use YouTube to learn from folks like
yourself.
Im a loyal viewer, damnit!! LOL. Your cruiser might be a casualty also…..
