Clk500 with 173,000 just got new motor mounts. Feels better than a brand new Chevy and faster than mustangs and camaros
I still have my 1991 ford ranger 2.3 runs like it's brand new out the factory. I have put many parts into it as it has had its problems over the years but it was always a easy to swap part and it was ridden hard. The reliability and ease to work on shows me they wanted stuff to last back in the day. Why would I get rid of something I know will run till the frame literally rust apart? For an electric piece of junk? I think not.
Ford's best quality is the candy at the front desk at the dealership, and it's wurthers originals.
In hindsight, the saddest day for Ford owners? The day they lost their minds and bought a Ford!!!

Scotty I am not buying another Ford. Although my CMax is 8 years old with almost a hundred thousand miles on it and all I got was a horn that went out and cost $184 to replace and not covered by CarMax, and the Park cable recall that they will fix some day. They no longer make cars anymore and the Subaru Forester wins my heart that may be my next car. The Forester is still 100% made in Japan and I like that. That will probably have to be my next vehicle
The story about the GM cat in the Equinox reminds me of a story I heard about the Triumph Stag, where they used whatever car parts (especially the steering rack) were available that day to build it. This was happening when the factory workers were on strike more than they were actually working.
