Always disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Always.

The wire or on the bottom sideis that ok or did they give me the wrong one
life saver pulled the alternator off couldn’t get belt back on than decide
to use the internet for its intended use and found this video and finished
the job
You figured correctly. All the best automotive manuals recommend
disconnecting the battery.

Crap i hate this phone! I meant THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you for posting this video!
Thanks for posting this! Great video
Whoa that nk uou so much! You just saved me a trip to the mechanic!
Thank you.
Do you have to remove the belt in order to remove the alternator?
You won’t need any luck. It is easy. You’ll do fine.
I just did this thanks to this video. The tension pulley is a biiatcha if
you don’t “Eat your Wheaties.” Other than that, it went pretty much like
you see here. I used a rebuilt ’99 Explorer 130amp in my 2000 Ranger. Works
like a champ! BTW: Yes people. Disconnect your battery. Positive, Negative,
both terminals, just disconnect them before you do this job. Thanks again

big thanks done in 20 minute with your help 🙂

Going to be doing this tonight in my front yard after I get my new
alternator 🙂 wish me luck haha.
Great video! You can also remove the intake hose to reach everything easier
Great video. Thanks. Can you now make a video on replacing the water pump .
Wish I had replaced the whole tensioning mechanism when I did this repair
job. It looked like it took a special tool to get it off.
this is a awesome vid helped alot thanks
Glad to help!
thank you so much for showing me where the tentioner was , i’ve been
looking for it for about 3 hours . even the book i bought didn’t show the
location , thanks
This will help some
great vid help a lot even for my 2005 3.0 v6 thanks!
shouldnt you also disconnect your battery when messing with your
alternator? just figured since it’s electrical and all
Thanks for the feedback. This job is so amazingly easy – at least with a
few small tips.
No, I replaced the belt because it was worn. The belt will tend to fall off
of the other pulleys and dangle around the fan shaft so it’s good to know
how to get it back on.
Thanks. Made replacing the alternator a little easier on my ’03
edge..Everything is virtually the same.
thank you for posting this
