Any help on this?

Dodge Durango is a better SUV then Ford Exploder.. Everytime I go to the
junk yard there are lots of Exploders.

Tony Olomu says:

Thanks man your video was a life saver but couldn’t get to the links you
talked about but ha, yours was the only one to answer my question

Tony Gutierrez says:

this is very insightful I hate to ask but my 97 ford explorer’s rear
drivers side door will not open from the inside or outside i was wondering
if after getting it open like you did in the video is there a way of
hooking the handles back up to whatever came off without taking of the
whole panel? If not is it easy to remove & replace the panels?

michaelheiland123654 says:

How u like those soft leather seat on the Exploder?

ambrosiaB1982 says:

Thank you! My passengers were having to reach out the window to open the
door until one of them broke the outer door handle. This is going to be
attempted tomorrow!

Destro728 says:

This is EXACTLY what I needed.
Thanx, chief!

Ben White says:

actually against all odds the door panel is able to come off with the door
stuck shut. my rear driver side door has been stuck and after about 15
minutes of workin with he panel i was able to get it off. first there
should be a corner at the top that is more loose than the other side pull
this away and up to get it slide up out of the groove while pushin in with
your thumbs to curve it out. it wont come over the lock so take a small
crow bar or slide your arm down in there and force the panel off below the
loose corner and eventually you should be able to pull the panel off.
drivers window would be hella hard to do this way. hope this helps.

Brenda Maronay says:

It Worked!!! A few weeks ago I found myself in the same situation but
didn’t have time then to fix it. Today I found the other 2 videos which
would help IF I could get the door OPEN. Then I saw your video, and it
worked first try!!! Thank you! No more climbing in & out!

Dometrus Hawkins says:

Will this work on a 2010 Chevy Malibu or too different?

Thanks a million, you’re amazing. 1 1/2 years and counting I have had no
use of my rear door. Seen all the videos mentioned but your remedy is the
best! Hooray for YouTube! Thanks for sharing!

Mike Harper says:

do you do if child lock is on.? if its not what do you do if this dont work

inwinblades says:

Hey Rembert, that stumps me. Never had that issue. Sorry, but I’ve got
nothing. Good luck. Thanks for watching. Peace. -GrayBeard

inwinblades says:

LoL-!st of all, Thanks! 2nd-I’m glad this vid was helpful. As for the rims,
they were 16’s and the factory chrome ones too. Very nice. However this
past April, my Ford decided it had had enough toting around my water tank,
and the tranny went belly up. Luckily there’s a guy locally who loves the
explorers, and bought it for his “collection”. Now I have a nice & shiny
silver TrailBlazer LT. Hope this one lasts 8+ years like the last one.
Thanks again for watchin.- Peace- GrayBeard

Mo Sanogo says:

Great trick but quick question, will that work if you have the child safety
lock on and the exterior door handle broken? It is my situation right now.

James Pates says:

This will help me on my 98 Explorer About 2 weeks ago all the locks in the
truck started to lock/unlock by themselves even with the truck off.The
driver side wouldnt unlock from either side, call it stress/what have you
but i pulled the handle a little to hard only to find out it looked like a
square pack of Duck tape behind the actual handle This was a beater vehicle
a friend sold this to us with our knowledge of its condition its a godsend
to us except for this recent lock situation BTW TY GB

Cody Olson says:

Thanks My wife called me from her work today and told me the outside handle
broke and now when she comes home she has to climb over the seat. I told
her she can drive my truck and i will drive the Ford Explorer. At least now
i know i won’t have to climb over the seat.

luis cabrera says:

Aww i was hoping this could help me but i already knew this. One of the
doors in my car doesnt open from the inside or outside. I think the metal
rods came loose some how and if i pull either handle it moves with no
tension so i know its no connected, i just dont wanna break my door panel
to re connect them lol

inwinblades says:

I average near, at, or just over 30,000 miles a year, working miles. I
passed 200k a loong time ago. I’m like you. I keep hoping to keep getting a
few more years out of it. I like NOT having a car payment. Call me spoiled.
LoL. Thanks for watching. Thanks for having the video for me, and
apparently others with the same problem. Peace, and Happy New Year.-

Explorer. Glad my video helped. Thanks for watching. Peace.- GrayBeard

weeks later and door still won’t open. husband tried to get door handle
off–it’s passenger side, btw–so it’s him climbing over MY seat and
screwing stuff all up. anyway, i know you don’t own the veh anymore, but if
both doors are the same, um, hubby couldn’t get past the rainguard. so, how
do you get the handle off??? (and he’s a mechanic…)

Peter Fikaris says:

Genius! Thanks!

circe801 says:

i love you!!! (don’t worry–i’m a girl). looks like your ’98 is just like
my ’99–sport with leather seats and power sunroof. do you have the 16 inch
wheels or the boring (but cheaper) 15s??? just curious. and, yea, it seems
like there is something in the way–like i said, the handles don’t flop,
but i just can’t get the lock to pop… with or without key, so, the
actuator is probably still fine…

Goat Moag says:

Thanks dude.

Kyle Murdock says:

Nevermind, totally got it. You are the man!

Diane Black says:

GrayBeard…YOU ARE AWESOME. Thanks so much for caring about others in
need. I was having to do the same thing as you…going in from the
passenger side to get in my car…real cool…least to say ‘lady like’. My
husband had been struggling to try to figure out how to get the driver’s
side door open. I said…well I am going on utube and ! ‘YOU ARE THE MAN’
and saved the night. We did exactly that and ‘Walla’ my door is open and
now he can fix the problem. God Bless You! Thank you again.

Kyle Murdock says:

How did you get it to get out of half locking? We basically have the same
exact car minus the moon roof.

inwinblades says:

Unfortunate. Sometimes, we just got to bite the bullet, and drag the wallet
out. Sounds like it’s time to take that issue to a professional. However,
maybe search “door handle broke (make model) child locks on”. Good luck.
