60's Era Ford Ignition Lock Cylinder Installation

A number of our Ford-based Classic Update kits include a stock-style ignition switch that must be orientated correctly in order to install the lock cylinder. This video explains how to tell if your lock cylinder and switch are lined up for easy installation.

Will not lock or turn once in the hole. Then I hit the detent button allowing it to move a little bit for insertion!

THANKS, now maybe I can install a NEW assembly since I've been using a screwdriver for over 10 years, seems I could NEVER get the base part installed in the dash due to the spring tension and cramped space, maybe you could do a clip of that?????

Good info but I want to see them do it on a vehicle. Especially considering the manufacturers of the new lock don't seem to have very tight tolerances and nothing fits quite like it should.
Completely different story when one hand is trying to reach under the dash and compress the spring while th other is trying to get the ill fitting bezel to lock in place.

I was trying to remove and I did like it said and the whole thing fell apart and the rods and bearings Inside fell out everywhere not sure what to do now because the main piece is still stuck in there sum how
