I think if you change the color it will grow old pretty fast only for you to change it again after that. Keep the silver/champagne color, i think its perfect for this gen. But by all means, dont do black, then all contours will vanish
I personally like the old bumper, I just don't like the waffle vents that it had. Having that opening on the center covered looks weird, like there's something that's meant to go there.

I think you should repaint it but keep it a muted color. Maybe like a muted metallic green or even a white/grey chalk
