This is someone who really deserves to own a Ferrari.
you definitely saved yourself a redicilous amount of money by doing it
yourself *thumbs up*
is that ferrari wood that cost $10,000? lol
@Aucteg – there is no service light on the 360. However with the F1
transmission you do need the dealer computer.
And a Porsche crest on the wall! This made MY day 😀
@mrpcar thanks. one more thing, how much does an annual service cost on a
360? well seeing that you maintain your 360 by yourself, i guess it might
be cheaper to maintain it by yourself than to send it to a ferrari mech?
@xxxxdarksidexxxx Lowes, $29.99 😛
@mrpcar I didn’t miss the scissor lift; that has nothing to do with my
comment either; specifically jack stands. its ok not really a big deal not
like its my car haha
Redline 5W40, Redline 75W90NS with 8oz friction modifier
@xxxxdarksidexxxx Well… you completely missed the $1500 hydraulic mid
rise scissor lift that’s lifting the car up, that’s the reason for the $30
wood plank because the scissor lift when folded is about 4″ in height, so
the car needs to clear the lift in order to drive on top of it.
@mrpcar oh wow, i was expecting far worse! Once i get my law degree im
going to be all over this! Or possibly a lotus first, i still have a few
years of college left to decide!
lol i meant on a ferrari, i already do my s4, but im looking for a f355
right now. Do you think i could change the oil no problem? save a grand or
so thanks.
You will have to remove the center access panel, rear wheels, and the wheel
well to get to the plug, very hard to get to them from the side of the
engine bay because they are deep down.
have money for FERRARI and you cant afford for a DAMN CAMERA or CELL PHONE
hith good cam ?????
Tyler, I am not a mechanic by trade. Just like to work on cars. You car
start by taking some courses at your local community college to understand
the basics and turn some wrenches on the donner cars there before you tear
apart your own car.
@conor1148 – Depends. Typically budget $1000 / year and $3500 every 3 years
A guy who works on his own Ferrari?! Nice work!!! What kind of oil do you
run?
@Goldielocksz – LOL! Glad you find the humor in that. We own two Porsche in
the household, by far much better cars than the Ferrari.
very crazy!!!!!!!!!!
@mrpcar thanks. very helpful.
awesome, love it how you can do your own work!!! i want to own a 360
someday but im kinda scared about the maintenance… is it really THATTT
expencive like pleople say it is???
@mrpcar its just funny you didn’t even use $50 set of jack stands….even
MORE funny is you actually spent $30 on wood hahahaha WOW! this made my day.
@FOXnewsAlien – Nope, just a NA V8
@yohjidevera the parts price are about the same, the F1 does require
slightly more labor rate. But it is the frequency that counts. The F1 wears
out clutches a lot quicker than the manual since with the manual you get to
control the clutch slipperage on take off.
very nice car, luky man. 🙂
about how much yearly does it cost to do all this up-keep?
Changing the oil is easy, the hard part is changing the timing belt and
other things. The 355 have some issues with cracked exhaust manifold, and
valve guide problems. Be aware before you sink your hard earn dollar.
sick ride. is it true after service only a dealer can reset the service
light otherwise it’ll only run on 4 cylinders??? I know it sound rediculous
but It’s a rumor I heard
I LOVE seeing people doing service in their own garage. Dealers charge
stratospheric fees, and most of what they are doing is simple fluid
changes, flushes, and some tolerancing. All can be done yourself with some
internet access and a local Snap-On or Craftsman supplier.
I love the 355’s but I don’t like theheadaches and the design flaws that
can cost a fortune to fix. Especially the f1’s hydraulic pump relay, and
the valve guides. You’re a brave man. Ferrari has allways meant
performance, pedegree, an amazing exhaust note, and garbage build qualtiy.
Yeah, Ferrari parts are stupid expensive!!!
@yohjidevera – it depends on how many miles you drive. Typical yearly
service requires complete fluid change which will cost about $800. But of
course parts just break on their own from just being park on the Ferraris,
so add another $1000 for repair items that shouldn’t break but do since
they are Italian.
what is the price difference in maintenance on a 6 speed & f1 transmission
types?
