+ff5gus Because I didnt want to use that penetrating fluid while working on
my plastic tailgate cover. Might eat right though it! I really need a
workbench badly!
Smashing tutorial :-))
The giant “G” clamp is the daddy ha ha, i have a bench vise so that would
be my choice of torture and a set of large sockets to push the idea home 🙂
I suppose you could grease the clean arm to stop rust, but one jetwash and
its gone!!, try accidental paint overspray lol, it allways sticks better
than intendid paint, dam overspray :)
Never knew about control arms. Thanks for the awesome video! What camera
setup are you using? I looks like a DSLR. Very good quality and visuals!
Penetrating fluid and a ratchet? Sounds like a plan to me!!! Hahaha
Thank you so much, just don’t stop doing this videos
great video Chris. nice explanation.
Keep it up… next video should be about relays :-)
What could I expect by going to poly bushings in my Ranger?
Thanks for making this video. Learned a lot. Can I use this type of press
on 92 to 2000 Civics?
I replaced my lower control arm bushing of my McPherson strut, not too
difficult, I used a drill press to get the old bushing out and new bushing
in.
very helpful but I think I’m gonn pass on the repair since 1 and 8 have
lower compression by 30 psi no more money in this thing
I had to drill a couple wholes into my car the other day and I primed them
with Rustoleum and painted them a paint close enough to the color of my car
since it was covered by another car part anyway.
For something like a control arm, I wonder if I would try a product I saw
near these that said powder coat on it. Would that be a better protectant
against rust for what these parts put up with?
Hi Chris: what is the price for the control arm bushing remover?
Wow thanks for another awesome video. This is going to be my project in
couple weeks since i have to replace the bushings on the rear side. The
sooner i get things done the better or ill be cooked under my car with this
AZ weather in summer lol
why would I replace the whole control arm if I could just replace the
bushings?
Goooooood buuuuuttt yyouuuu taaaaaaaaak tooooooo muuuuuuuch fooooorrrr
siiiiiiimpppppllllleeee stuuuuuuuuf that could be said in fewer and clear
stated words…. Oh my, learn to be short clear and to the point. Thank for

Another good video. Thanks this helps me somehow on changing my leaf spring
bushing. Great videos man. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome video!
man you are fcking awesome i love your vids…please continue doing these
forever
Awesome!
A helpful tip is to also put some penetrating fluid on the threads of the
rod that is pushing on the bearing. Cranking down on that threaded rod can
make a lot of friction, a light oil or penetrating fluid would help keep it
cooler and reduce possible binding, and I’ve also found it helps make
turning the threaded rod easier as well.
For some reason I was super slow to understand how pressing wheel bearings
worked. Sometimes repetition is the key. When I watched your wheel bearing
press video some months back, I thought, is it really gthat easy? Now that
I see another example of the same concept, I’m sure I have it now! No more
paying someone else to press something I can do myself.
I triply owe you though, once for the other press video, twice for this
video, and a job I did last week myself.
I’ve worked around tie rods a ton on different projects, but I had never
done an alignment job. I rewatched your tie rod video while under the car
and wondering why it wouldn’t move.
Knowing that I was right after your video, I applied penetrating lube and
the silly thing finally moved (had to borrow tools from my neighbor, first
part on a car that was SAE instead of metric for me ever, and it’s a
Japanese car too!)
So the short of it, having seen briansmobile1’s down and dirty alignment
video, I realigned my car once instead of waiting at a local shop twice for
them to get the job done right.
The third thank you is more for the beginning of the video where you list
what a person will need. Loctite! Of course! The local shops had never used
Loctite, so of course the car always lost it’s alignment way too easy!
zing right off
I like that I’ll have to try it next time. I always did this the hillbilly
way with all-thread stacks of washers a couple sockets and nuts.
Ok, sounds about right. Lots of squeaking. My mechanic suggested I replace
both my lower control arms.

Why didn’t you use your home made penetrating oil
