Ferrari F430 Sticky Buttons fix and driving to the parts store

The Ferrari F430 had some of the dreaded “sticky buttons.” So I ran to the auto parts store to buy some goo gone and towels. Then I scrubbed the stickiness away!

Who the hell puts a concave mirror add -on on a Ferrari? Trying to give it a Ford van look? LOL

Judging by some of the comments, it looks like that's why I've heard it costs something like a few grand to refinish the interior controls. I never understood why, especially after seeing your method. It really must be about chasing perfection to pay that much for it.

Spicewood Springs Rd. is lots of fun! Maybe not when you have a minivan in front of you though… great video

Thanks for giving me the confidence to do this. I did not have goo gone so went for it with denatured alcohol. It worked very well but do not (NOT) go over the blue tooth buttons. It will remove all the color and give you a button thats all green or red. Luckily I stopped as soon as a little green came through. Also on the vents, the arrows will come off. Be very careful!

Dave Lelonek is offering you some good advice…it is inadvisable to attempt cleaning the parts still installed. You are risking damaging the leather and permanently staining the contrasting stitching by cleaning them while in place. While it worked out for you this time, others may not be so lucky, and that would be a shame if it was because of your advice. While It is an inexpensive fix, it does not match the original finish.  I've never used Dave's services but am familiar with his work and seen his website…his stuff is stunning, and durable.  I've been through this on a 355 and when my 430 Scud eventually requires this work, I'll be looking up Dave 🙂

With all due respect, I own the leading sticky refinishing company in world and cleaning the failed soft touch coating does not make the "parts as new". You might want to check out our website: http://www.stickyrxrs.com

I'd also suggest that your viewers not use the products you mention in contact with leather.

Great vlogs man!

They still look terrible !! On a car like yours I'd be leaving it to the professionals like Sticky RX and get them refinished back to factory look.

Hi! Thanks for tip! How do u prevent the texts from being rubbed off? I am a bit concerned on that, otherwise this is a great alternative to spending 2-3k on some damn buttons lol

"Garage door open!" lol

Nice job. It looks like you took some of the white paint off the Parking button though (see before and after). Maybe put some tape over the buttons next time?
