CARBON FIBER UPGRADE! Installing Capristo Ferrari 458 Front Canards

CARBON FIBER UPGRADE! Installing Capristo Ferrari 458 Front Canards

During the Bullrun GT Rally, my front canard (wing) was destroyed. So the awesome people at Capristo Exhausts reached out to me and sent me a set of their carbon fiber canards!

Visit Capristo’s site and use NGS15 for 15% off your order through Thanksgiving! http://bit.ly/ngscap

The installation of the front wings is not too terribly difficult but you do have to remove the front bumper which means you need to remove the wheel houses, under tray, and a bunch of other trim pieces. Expect it to take a few hours but it will be easier if you have someone helping for the bumper removal / installation part.

Interesting. I'm doing this exact same job right now on my 2015. What you see on your's at the 7:15 mark when disconnecting the 3 bolts inside the wheel well is surprisingly different on mine. I have 3 bolts, but they're 5mm hex heads. The hole you have to get to the third bolt doesn't exist on my car, and that whole piece of metal where your hole is located is totally different on mine. Getting to that 3rd bolt on mine is a PITA!!!!

Ferrari sure don't make it easy to work on.

Jerry Ng says:

is there really no other way, other than full removal of the front bumper? Perhaps a partial bottom dismantle, so a hand can reach in to unscrew the cannard from the back? Cheers

NDPesic Group says:

thats a lot of work for 6 bolts

Bruce Skinner says:

I'm surprised you didn't have to drop the engine and transmission to get to those canards!!

Hi. Can you do a video about how you buy a Ferrari such as, where do you look, the one you want will probably be at a different dealer than your local one so how do you negotiate with them, do you have the car shipped to your local dealer for inspection, do you get a PPI at the other dealer, what if what they portray is different, can your local dealer get involved so they get the car, inspect and sell it to you for an additional fee (to be safe), can you have the other dealer do a video of the car for you, what happens if that dealer gives you a warranty, is it transferable to your local dealer, how do you work out financing if the car is out of state (or a private party), what rates can you expect to pay based up credit scare ranges, what would your income need to be if you finance a certain amount – example, car cost 200K, put down 100K, want to finance 100K, credit between 600 and 700, etc. This will help people buy more Ferraris but please wait to do video until I buy mine so I will have a bigger selection…LOL. Thanks.

I'm curious if this was what you wanted or would you have purchased a speciale over the regular 458

How do you feel about poor man's carbon fiber? There was a point where I was considering carbon fiber parts, but they're so expensive for something that I'm getting for visual appeal. Not to mention usually for more affordable production cars, it's CF over fiberglass. So I started looking at what I couldn't justify in real CF, and would use a vinyl wrap instead. Then it was suggested to me to not use a wrap because when it's in the company of real CF body parts, it doesn't look right. I thought he had a good point, on top of CF not being as dark as black paint, so that's the route I was coerced to take on my only car.
