im pulling my turbo now and i do not have a strap band behind the turbo.
its one solid peice of metal that runs to the exaust
I don’t recommend using a cx racing turbo on a diesel. use a holset.
where did u order the turbo from? thanks bro
I always fill the oil feed fitting with fresh oil so it’s got something for
the first start.you really shouldn’t take a new turbo out and ” see how
much boost it gets” ,take it easy on it under 10 psi for at least an
hour, let the soot build up and ” balance” the exhaust side of the turbo
first..
did you prelube the turbo first?
Do you have a link to the store you bought the turbo? :)
Great screw driver trick for the tight spot. Yep, cool down the turbo
before shut down keeps it alive.
That was the hardest start ever.
I need to know were you get the turbo for $ 300 let me know please
i just bout a 315.00 used holset turbo on ebay for my truck. my factory
turbo looked exactly like your super B and i was looking at a new turbo
like you put on but was to scared to order a china part. ive never swaped
a turbo before but it arrives on tuesday so ill find out then. did you
have to replace your intercooler due to metal shavings making it down
there?
Thanks!
Good job!
Thanks for watching!
I told him where I got it and it’s working perfect.
You mean it was warm enough to work outside? You are lucky. Been real cold
here in NY.. Good job on the repair..
But it’s all better now eh!!
I just got a rebuild from Oregon fuel Injection for $750 napa was $1000 for
the same thing
can’t kill a cummins
No tube, or screen on the front? I hope no objects get caught in there!
Man that truck is rusty!! Nice work and glad to see another repair video
from you.
hows it perform with the cheaper turbo? compared to the holset and the
other one
$300, not bad for a turbo. Good video, Ed.
Aye yi yi!! That’s never good eh!!☺
Well, that was a pretty heavy work for changing the turbo, heavy stuff but
it runs perfect again after you changed it, that’s the most important
thing. Great vid Ed.
Much better 🙂 Do you think the old turbo’s died due to dust ingress via a
poor air filter?
you should take out the silencer ring my truck spools up alot quicker
I like these ratchets too. Better than a deep well socket since you can get
more torque on the bolt or nut.
$300?? What’s the website
Great job. How do you like the craftsman max access ratchet set?
