We replaced the Track Bar Bushing because the truck would wander on the road while driving and steering was loose.

pblaster on the rubber. maybe grease would help the rubber last longer
Made in USA wow!
@edzgarage that’s alright Ed, I figured as much. It looks like I just have
to jack it up on the frame or the I beams and take it apart then just
wrestle it back together with pry bars and a come-a-long.
Good Vid. Now I know what to expect. Thanks
@electricfeel007 Not sure if would or not.
@edzgarage i know, im just raggin on dodge because im a GM guy lol.
@Begbucks I don’t have a Napa around here. I don’t think I said they were
more expensive anywhere else. Thanks for watching!
@cusemeng44 Thanks! The truck is pretty close to new now.
@mbyr31 Thanks Matt!
@edzgarage you should get the towing mirrors, makes the truck look amazing
@TryMeImHard Thanks!
A couple questions because I’m planning to do the same thing in my jeep
cherokee 96. Do I have to lift the car or can be on the ground the whole
time?, Can I remove just the side where I’m going to replace the bushing or
I have to take the whole trackbar down?, great video..thanks!
@mitmaks It may still need to be replaced, but look at the rest of the
front end components for play, like the tie rods, ball joints and steering
box.
Great job. It that truck a 5speed?
@6030diesel Happens to the best of them lol
@edzgarage the 2nd gen ram doesnt really suffer from the death wobble, most
iv seen are lifted 3rd gen
@KrankieV2 Good luck with it and make a vid showing us how you did it.
You need to include the footage of your work that you seem to skip such as
when you installed the little metal sleve into the bushing and some other
parts. These are important to see and makes for more interesting viewing. I
want to see it all please.
@KrankieV2 Sorry Tom, I haven’t had the pleasure of doing this on a Ford
yet.
pitman arm puller really helps getting the frame end of the trackbar
off…..last time i took mine off with the puller it sounded like a gun
shot when it finally broke loose…..
@6030diesel I think I work on my Ford’s just as often. Just different
problems.
@sixbbl Thanks for watching!
@chuff255 WYSIWYG!
@Jthumper Great upgrades!
Great job Ed & Alex… Thats such a nice truck too!
What does Alex do for work?
@dirtriderkx500 lol I can use all the help I can get!
@conquryourfear It can, but this was not bad enough to cause it.
@edzgarage just dodge a little more often hahaha.
@ghtowagon It is amazing! I forgot to mention that in the vid.
@TheSaturnV Thanks! It’s a labor of love for sure.
@cape304 Find someone who sells Moog chassis parts…their a better design
and come with a lifetime warranty…parts plus or carquest normally carry
them.
alright Ed….got a great idea for ya….retire, open a garage, & let the
boyz run it for you while “re-imbursing” you for their home-schooling! good
job fellas!
@1968hambone Great idea HB. The only problem is all the repairs are on our
cars, so we… I don’t make a dime! lol
Yes, the truck can be on the ground. You will probably end up removing the
whole bar to get the old bushings out and the new ones in.
i also put in new Energy control arm bushings- those made a HUGE difference
and much more solid feel on the road… and pretty easy to do one at a time
with truck on the ground
my 1995 has a 1/4 turn of slop, so next month goes in new track bar
bushings, new lukes links, 4 new bilstein 5100 series and new kyb damper
A Napa part isn’t always more expensive – worth a check
Im surprised you did not have death wobble with the bushing that bad..
Great Video! Your shadow makes you look taller. LOL
@tom58c Yep! And I wish it wasn’t always me. lol
@mstep3 Thanks for the comment!
its not a fun job but someone has to do it huh lol
Thanks for the comment!
@jpurvis79bronco No problem Buddy! Thanks for the comment!
