I got an instance of my windshield wipers not turning off. It's a 2001 Dodge Dakota, and it only turns off when I've turned off the engine. I think it has something to do what the BCM (body control module) regarding the proper fuse needing replacement due to a burnout. But if this doesn't work I really don't know

Andy Brewer says:

I got the 3.9. Great engine but notorious for cylinder 5 misfire. All I did was change spark plugs, rotor bug and distributor cap and it quit. Only spot on the distributor cap that had white looking corrosion on it was the cylinder 5 one and the rest still looked brand new. I've talked to a lot of elders about it and mechanics and no one could tell me why cylinder 5 does that. It was 2 years ago when I changed all that and it's been doing great ever since. I'm just dealing with transmission sensors now or maybe the culonoid for the overdrive is out now because after driving it for about 15 miles the over drive will turn off and not back on unless I turn the engine off then it'll go another 15 miles or so before it does it again. It is weird because no engine light comes on. Do you know what is causing it to do that and not throwing the engine light on when it does?

chris m says:

That truck looks like its been through one too many Minnesota winters!

jason morris says:

I have a question I have a 03 Dakota v6 won't idle when engine is cold if I rev it to 1500 till engine get hot then it will idle I've changed the iac valve still does it.

mich schep says:

Biggest problem right off the bat is a worthless cam…… then the leaky plenum gasket…… shitty lifters…… and the cam is made of junk steel, rounding off the lobes and sending steel thru the engine….

Eye Ball says:

John Stone says:

This is me but it's $100. Bucks to fix this…

Travis Brown says:

Whatever! Yall think every truck and car has a top 5 problem lol. I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota. Runs like a champ, keep your oil changed and fix the typicle sensor problems as they come along, give it some love and just take care of your vehicle. You'll be just fine

rodney washington says:

my 2002 had oil dripping on wire harness which caused melted wires which caused computer shortage. they wanted 2600.00 to fix it. we all should know the rip offs of dealerships. and no help offers with cost or asking manufacturer for help. independent mechanic charge was 1200.00. that was new harness and labor. this truck was only 4 years old. mileage was a bit high at 110 thousand but also in that same time period a ball joint broke, radiator burst, alternator was replaced. let me add on way home from dealership with my brand new truck as i stopped at store the front pulley on motor came loose and fell off dropping the belt. i wondered right then if i made a mistake buying dodge. this was a 4 cylinder too that only got 14 mpg.

JD Kramer says:

I still have one in my barn. haven't running in the last five years ago.
