holy shit, that tensioner is 24 dollars brand new and to get that pin out, get some super glue out and attach something small to it and be done with it.
For all the dumbass’s that are saying you should see if it runs before doing all this work, it wont run if they dont do this work, they need to have the belt on it to get it running
seems kinda expensive for a wrecker part that you had to take off. especially being a “not hard to find” part. The belt tensioner for my 06 sierra was only 52 taxes in
bloookeeee weld a nut on the end of the pin weld up the center of the nut and put a wrench or a pair of vise grips and twist and turn till it comes out …. unless you dont got a welder
Bloke, maybe try putting a jack under the engine, removing a motor mount and lowering the engine just enough so you can better get to the tab that broke off. Then drill it out or drill/tap a hole in it and put a screw in that and use that to pull it out. just my 2 cents, hope ya work it out.
not to bust balls but shouldn’t you atleast see if the thing even runs before going through a bunch a work fixing it and buyin hubcaps? just sayin bloke.
Sorry I should have put this all in one comment but thought about it later. Try heating the area around the pin with Oxy acetylene and tapping the pin with a punch. maybe it’ll break it loose from the rust. Its dissimilar metals corrosion thats friggin you over.
That tensioner is VERY similar to the ones on the 2.2L gm motors that are in the sunfires, caviliers and s10’s. They are prone to snapping the tension pin and or becoming very noisy! I should have thought about the tensioner when you guys said you had no idea why the belt was so loose!
Neither of you look quite dirty enough to be trying real hard. What time into the project did you actually get the beer. Bloke… warm weather has it’s down side as well, doesn’t it?
Do you know anyone with a right angle drill? that should get at it, otherwise, maybe try undoing the engine mounts and maybe the engine will drop low enough to get at it with the normal drill. I am in Australia so am not familiar with these particular vehicles but I have used this method on other vehicles.

Bloke, I think you should go ahead and start it as is without the belt before going through a lot of trouble to be sure thats the only problem. You might try to drill a hole into the center with the dremel and thread a screw into the hole to use to pry out on it to get the pin out.
Twenty free is the temp, eh? 😛 That van looks to be in nice shape overall, I see people buying cars and trucks in much worse shape than that van regularly round here in Missouri. Good vid as usual.
I know, thats a lot of money for a used Dodge part. I bet new, its less than half of $35.
Its twenty free, Its twenty free Its twenty free Its twenty free
For the dumbass calling others dumb, you can start it without a belt, just dont keep it running long for it will overheat.

Lov goin to the junk yard we have LKQ pick your parts in the us
why not sell it to dave and he could put his diesel engine in it and have it as his fuel efficient caravan
For all the dumbass’s that are saying you should see if it runs before doing all this work, it wont run if they dont do this work, they need to have the belt on it to get it running
$39 is not a deal, you got raped.
tell bobby to quit wearing brand new expensive shirts to the junkyard.

Does anyone know if the Caravan has an interference motor? Obviously, someone has interfered with it. Ha, ha,….
Drill and tap it with a smaller bolt and pull or wiggle it out.

wow thats way to much money for a used tensioner. especially since the same thing may happen.
That would of been $8 in a Swedish scrapyard
$35 for that from a scrap yard? sheesh. I think i paid $15 for a brand new one when i did the pulleys on my ranger.
cheers bloke good shit pal
Good Work!
Exactly what I was thinking
