Consider yourself lucky. I had to replace the expansion valve on my honda
element which required removing the evaporator. Part of the dash had to be
cut out per honda factory service manual in order to get the evaporator
out. It was not a fun job. I have similar performance to your durango, good
subcooling with high superheat. I wish the valve was adjustable.

Hi there, Why did you have to change it or better question what was the

down just before the dryer. Could it be a clog in the expansion valve? Did
your was doing the same? Thanks

Nice job swapping out that TXV. That particular job must bring out lots

the steps. Seems that Durango system may not have been designed for desert
heat. But it’s fun to keep thinking about how to improve on it.
